The Sunshine and Rainbows Designer Series Paper retired because Stampin' Up!s Sale-a-bration promotion ended at the end of February. This doesn't mean you can't use these measurements to whip up some other cards using other Designer Series Paper you may have. You can make a bunch to have on hand.

Sweet Talk and Ladybugs Oh My!

Over the last couple of days, I've been designing, making, and planning for my monthly card class later this month. It is happening later than usual this month due to my Family European Vacation in the second half of December, serious jet lag upon returning home, and working four mornings a week training the new gal who will be taking over for me at my church bookkeeping job which I've resigned from as of Jan. 31. After 5-1/2 years there part-time, which I took to decompress after my teaching career, I realized I am decompressed enough and ready to focus solely on my Stampin' Up! business. The hubs would also like to travel to more National Parks and such, so I need the flexibility to do that.

The Hubs loves to take panoramic photos, so here is one of our Viking River ship docked in the town of Decin, Czech Republic. If you have never taken a Viking River Cruise, I highly recommend it. I have loved every trip we've taken with them!

Tent Style Hand Penned Card Idea

I am still so in love with the beautiful Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper, I thought I'd share another original card design with you today!  This tent style card is a good choice so it will stand easily on its own, but it reminds me of an easel that shows your "masterpiece" is on display!

I love how soft the color combinations are too!

Sharing My Hand Penned Swap Card

Over the last month or so I've been part of a special Stampin' Up! group at my Silver level who want to grow their team larger and then advance to the Silver Elite level next. 

While working this training, another nice demonstrator offered to host a 15+1 card swap. I love to do card swaps, so I signed up.

Create a Card with the Art Gallery Stamp Set

Well, there's some good news and bad news on the card I'm showing you today. 

The Good News is the Art Gallery Stamp Set is carrying over into 

the new 2021 Annual Catalog. Yay!

 The Bad News is the Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper will be 

ending on June 30, 2021. So that means you are in the 

sweet spot to get both now (if you haven't already)!

Inspired from Julie Petrie

This is a great card for an advanced beginner stamper. One who 

has a die cutting machine, but likes quick beautiful cards. This one has it all.

Products used in this Card and available in my Online Store:

Pool Party cardstock - cut 5-1/2" x 8-1/2", score on 4-1/4"

Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper cut 4" x 5-1/4"

Use the largest Stitched So Sweetly Die on Basic 

White - cut a piece 3-1/2" x 4-1/4" for good measure.

Art Gallery Stamp Set

Classic Label Punch is retired, but feel free 

to stamp right on the Basic White.

Classic Inks needed - So Saffron, Bumblebee, Terracotta Tile 

retires on May 3rd, 2021) but again you substitute another 

color for the flower center, and Mossy Meadow for the leaves.

Dimensionals to raise up the Basic White stamped panel.

Calendar Idea for Now or Next Year

It is still not too late to make yourself a little calendar for 2021. Or if you are a craft fair vendor you can get a head start on some of these for fall sales or as friend gifts for the next new year.

The great part is you can use up items from your papercrafting stash. I used Stampin' Up!s Flower and Field Designer Series Paper from the current Sale-a-Bration brochure that ends on February 28th.

 But you can use whatever you have on hand.

Here's how you make the Calendar Easel with a piece of 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" Cardstock

Designer Series Paper of your Choice - cut 1" x 5-1/4",  2 pieces 3/4" x 2-3/4"

Cardstock to mount Mini Calendar - 2-1/2" x 3-1/4"

Be sure to use strong adhesive to hold the calendar to the cardstock and the cardstock to the easel.

Punch the Basic White tag with the Timeless Label Punch

Stamp the greeting from the Inspiring Iris set in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.

Use any embellishments you find pleasing to you.

The Cardstock colors I used in my samples were Bumblebee, Petal Pink, Shaded Spruce, So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, Pool Party, Just Jade, and Misty Moonlight.

I hope you'll try this easel calendar. Once you get going they are easy to mass produce.

Painted Harvest Soft Sunflower Card

This card idea came straight from the pages of the 3rd quarter 2018 issue of the SU Demonstrators "Stampin' Success" magazine. The Sunflower is so soft looking and elegant I just had to make one. The Stamp sets used were Painted Harvest (along with the Leaf Punch) and Special Celebrations. The inks used were Petal Pink, Grapefruit Grove, Pear Pizzazz, Soft Suede, and So Saffron. The cardstock colors are Grapefruit Grove, Thick Whisper White, and some very old, retired Subtles Designer Series 12 x 12 paper stack - the polka dots are So Saffron. Grapefruit Grove 1/8" grosgrain ribbon finishes off the card.

Sharing Framelit/Thinlit Tracing and Watercolor Technique by Carolina Evans

I was excited to try Carolina Evans technique of tracing around a framelit lightly with pencil, then watercoloring inside of it with ink and an aqua painter. I did that and a lot more to create this card.  After you do the watercoloring, dry with your heat tool so you can continue to stamp the inner and small butterflies. As those dry punch out the ribbon and try to create rounded corners. Stamp the sentiment with black stazon, then assemble the card. Finish with a coat of Wink of Stella on top of the inner butterflies. Easy to mail card!
