Easy and Fun Thank You Card Using the Just My Type Stamp Set from Stampin' Up! You Will Want to Make a Bunch!

Today's post brings to a close my exploring and playing with Stampin' Up!s Just My Type set this last week. I hope you have enjoyed seeing the variety of easy and quick cards I've created for you. I hope these designs will motivate you to get this stamp set for your collection. If you add the Phrases for All stamp set too you will be set to make many cards for family and friends for all occasions.

I love to work with Black, White and one other color. Today it was Real Red. I love how this card came together. Just stamps, ink and paper. Easy peasy. Again this card is in Landscape mode with a left side fold. You just need to start with a Basic White card base 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2" and reduce each layer by 1/8" on all four sides.

Notice how the Thank You tag has red edges? All you have to do is touch the each edge of the paper to the Real Red ink pad and this is the result. Just the right amount of color!

Color Palette:
Card base - Basic White
Layer 1 - Basic Black
Layer 2 - Real Red die cut with Spots & Dots Die
Thick Basic White pieces for typewriter and small tag stamped with Memento Ink and Real Red Ink
Inner Card Layer - Basic Black with Basic White layer on top with two stamped and fussy cut envelopes adhered inside for cuteness.

Phrases for All
Spots & Dots Die
Nested Essentials Dies for tag
Retired Classic Matte Dots embellishments
Paper Snips for fussy cutting the typewriter out.

Sneak peek inside the card. Won't your personal message look great in there?

Close up of card front with the typewriter, letter, tag, and little envelope. These items were stamped and fussy cut from Thick Basic White cardstock.

In the photo above the envelope flap looks brownish to my eyes, but in real life it is Basic Black with gray polka dots. This Designer Series Paper is very retired, but you can use what you think looks good.

Combine the Colors Lost Lagoon and Pretty Peacock for an Easy but Stunning Just a Note Card Using the Just My Type Stamp Set

I don't know about you but I find this color combination of Pretty Peacock and Lost Lagoon very calming to look at. It must be the nature look in the leaves, and the shades of blue green in the cardstocks. Do you agree?

Sending a beautiful handmade card to a dear friend that is "Just a Note" is why I placed two typewriters on the card front instead of just one. The message would be going from me to you.

Whomever you would send this card to would be so appreciative of your kind act. Why don't you make someone's day and snail mail them one of your handmade cards? If you decided to make this layout as the card to send your friend, it is very easy even though it has multiple proportional layers. I find I can make cards faster if I design or sketch my idea firsts, then cut all my paper, do my stamping next, then fussy cutting, and finally assemble. By doing it this way I can focus better and pay attention to making a quality card each and every time.

Don't forget to have a matching envelope flap too. I love the look and the fact that I'm using up more of my vast collection of Designer Series Papers. Give it a try if you haven't yet. You create more of a WOW factor by doing so.

Stampin' Up!s Just My Type and Phrases for All Stamp Sets Combine to Make an Encouraging Card for a Dear Friend

If you are looking for an easy card to make using only 2 stamp sets, 2 inks and 4 papers card, then this layout is for you! The landscape, side fold card really packs a punch of popping color, flying envelopes, and a typewriter whose letter is already started.

The longer saying on the card says, "sending hugs & love when words aren't enough." When I saw that saying I thought it could be used multiple ways. For example: Sympathy in the loss of a loved one, or a loved pet; receiving a shocking health diagnosis; home or car accident; a divorce; or a faraway move across the country. I am sure there are more possible reasons, but the best reason of all is to be kind to your friend who is going through a tough time in their life.

Can you imagine someone sitting down at an old fashioned typewriter and whipping out letter after letter to their friends and loved ones. I can, thus the flying envelopes all over the card front.

Color Palette:
Card base - Night of Navy
Layer 1 - Real Red
Layer 2 - Boho Blue
Layer 3 - Basic White pieces
Inner Card Layer - Basic White

Close up look at the fussy cut typewriter and sheet of paper coming out of it. Here's a hint for you, leave 1/2" of extra room on the bottom of the Basic White piece you'll use for the sheet of paper. By doing so you will be able to attach the two pieces together with adhesive and scotch tape for insurance. The dimensionals that you'll need to raise the typewriter will be so easy to apply when both pieces are connected together.

All the flying envelopes were also fussy cut out. It is so fun to arrange them how you'd like, but be sure a few edges hang off the designer paper so you can trim prior to mounting the DSP layer on the Real Red layer.

Inside Layer Peek - 6 Boho Blue stamped envelope images in a border effect. Lots of room left to write your personal message, which I'm sure your friend would appreciate.

It is a good idea to have a matching envelope, so another pattern from the Countryside Inn Designer Series paper works nicely on the exterior envelope flap.

Just My Type and Masterfully Made Designer Series Paper Make a Great Colorful Combination

When I saw the Just My Type stamp set my memory went right back to High School where I learned to type the correctly for speed. My memories also went to my mother who had a large Royal brand typewriter that she used all the time at our house. The round Hello below in the stamp set image reminded me of the letter keys with the little ridge around the edge so your fingers had a little place to rest without slipping off the key entirely. Typing definitely took more finger strength than today's computer keyboards.

Today's card set uses the Masterfully Made Designer Series Paper (DSP) and the Soft Shimmer Specialty Paper in each one along with the color coordinated "Hello". The cards look rich and elegant but they were easy to put together. Just stamps, ink and paper (plus a few brass butterflies!)

Because of how the Masterfully Made DSP was made with a torn edge look, I decided to imitate that look in my card designs. It helps to have some fingernails when tearing a narrow edge so the inside white of the paper will show through.

The colors used in these cards were Pretty Peacock, Lost Lagoon, Berry Burst, and Lemon Lime Twist. I just love these bright bold colors! I hope you do too!

As I was designing the first three cards shown here, I thought it would be fun to have the Hello near the top of the card. But then, you know what happened? Then I said to myself, what if I try the Hello near the bottom of the card? So I did and you have three more cards to view below.

As you view the six cards, explore my different color combinations. Which one do you prefer? I'm in love with them all!

This card base was 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2".

You're probably wondering, did she fussy cut out all those circular letters? No, I have a very retired 3/4" circle punch that worked perfectly. But you can use a small circle die too if you'd rather. Each letter was raised up on one regular sized dimensional to given the card a little "pop"!

Cutting dimensions were:

Card base 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
Shimmer Layer and Inner Layer of Basic White were 4" x 5 1/4"
Masterfully Made DSP was 3 3/4" x 5"
Torn strip of DSP that the letters sit on were 1" x 3 3/4"
Envelope Flap of DSP was 2 3/8" x 6"

I hope you'll give these easy bright cards a try. They are so cheery your friends will LOVE them!

Celebrating Stampin' Up!s Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper in a Z Fold Easel Style Birthday Card That's Fun to Make

Over the last week, I've shared some fun card ideas using the Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper (DSP) by Stampin' Up! If you love to fussy cut like I do, you can get so many fun creatures out of one of the two sheets of each design. The remaining sheets become the background layers of your cards. That's a lot of cards for a $12.50 USD pack of 12" x 12" paper. I've made 8 cards in the last week and I have A LOT of creatures left to make more fun cards with.

This card today also features extra coloring on the animals done with Stampin' Blends and watercolor pencils. I think that really brings them to life. Using the Double Oval Punch helps provide the "spotlight" for the animals to stand on to wish the recipient a very cheerful Happy Birthday.

In addition to the animals having extra color added with Stampin' Blends and watercolor pencils, I did the same with the polka dot background. Using Stampin' Up!s wonderful Blending Brushes, it was easy to apply Pool Party ink to get just the right shading I wanted. Being able to add additional color is a wonderful technique to use from time to time.

The card above shows the Z Fold closed, as it would go in an envelope.

The card is now open in it's easel fold. I used three layers of the white polka dot ovals glued together to make the easel stopper that is raised on dimensionals. No fear of the easel sliding closed. It is securely behind the oval stopper when on display.

I always add a coordinating matching envelope to complete the card set.

Here's the side view of this card. I wanted to leave room on the inside layer for a personal message to be added. On the card base you would score at 2 1/8" and 4 1/4" to create the Z fold easel.

Using the Celebrate with Tags stamp set was fun to use, because it comes with those darling balloons that I stamped in Granny Apple Green and Pool Party Inks. Happy Birthday was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.

Stampin' Up!s Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper Makes the Cutest Z-Fold Baby Cards - Make Some for Yourself!

When I opened my package of the Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper (DSP) and saw the cute dancing hippos, I immediately thought "I should make a baby card with that hippo!" So that is what I am sharing with you today!

Using the Z-fun fold allows for more fussy cut dancing animal images to be used within the card. Let's take a look!

In the top photo with the card closed, you could almost infer "Hello Hippo!" and not even think it is a baby card. The double stamped "Hello" comes from the Biggest Wish stamp set. Because that stamp set is made of photopolymer it is very easy to stamp a second hello in Pool Party for a subtle 3D look in the lettering.

When you open up the card you see it is meant as a baby card with three dancing animal images. I added some additional subtle color with the Pool Party Stampin' Blends pens on the assorted animals as needed.

Using the Alphabet A La Mode diesPool Party cardstock was die cut to make for a fun "BABY" in the center of the card. Gold sequins embellish the card a little bit.

I put the personalized greeting layer on the back of the card so it wouldn't disrupt the design on the front. Adding one more dancing tiger seemed like a fun idea to try. The Congratulations comes from the Something Fancy stamp set.

The next three photos shows you another version done in Petal Pink cardstock. On this card I used a lot more Petal Pink sequins for a bit more sparkle. The rest of the process is the same as the first version.

The paper pieces you'll need for this Z Fold Card are:

Cardbase 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, scored at 2 1/8" and 4 1/4"
1" band from same cardstock scored the same as above

Zoo Crew DSP 1 piece 4" x 5 1/4" and two pieces 1 7/8" x 5 1/4"
DSP for the band is 1 piece 3/4" x 4" and 2 pieces of 3/4" x 1 7/8"

Basic White for Back greeting Layer 4 x 5 1/4"

Scraps of the colored cardstock for die cutting the letters.
Scraps of Basic White for the hello.
