You Can Make a Pretty Peacock Book Fun Fold Card Using Stampin' Up!s Share a Milkshake Stamp Set - Part 2

Here's the nitty gritty on the cutting and assembling of this cute Book Fun Fold Card.

A reminder of the two stamp sets used.

Card base - Pretty Peacock 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 4 1/4" and 5 1/2"

Front Layer - Glorious Gingham Designer Series Paper - Pretty Peacock
Narrow Piece - 1" x 4"
Square Piece - 4 1/4" square

Adhere together the 1 1/4" Binding portion of Fun Fold with adhesive.

Cut Inner Layer of Basic White Square Piece - 4" square.

Select greeting from Best Family Ever stamp set and stamp in Pretty Peacock Ink.

Adhere stamped Basic White layer inside of card.

From Left to Right around card base

Early Espresso cardstock  2" x 3", die cut burlap piece from Share a Milkshake Dies.

Pretty Peacock - Soft Shimmer Specialty Paper 3 1/2" square, die cut with largest Stylish Shapes Circle.

Basic White cardstock 1 3/4" x 3 1/4" for tag. Stamp greeting first in Pretty Peacock Ink, then die cut with second to the smallest Countryside Corners Die.

Pecan Pie sheet of Glorious Gingham Designer Series Paper 2 1/2" square,
and die cut with waffle cone die.

On the front of the book fun fold, adhere the Pretty Peacock Shimmer Circle.

Then with liquid glue, lightly dot the Early Espresso "burlap" piece and
adhere to Shimmer paper as shown.

Place Dimensionals on the back of the tag and adhere as shown.

With 3 scraps of Basic White cardstock 1 1/4" x 1 3/4", stamp your ice cream scoops in Crumb Cake ink, Pecan Pie ink, and Early Espresso ink. (The reason you see more scoops than are needed is I couldn't decide if I liked the scoops stamped on Crumb Cake or Basic White, but Basic White won out!)

With a very small scrap of Early Espresso cardstock, die cut the little blob of fudge sauce.

Fold waffle cone into the cone shape and adhere the front flap to close it only.
You need the room inside to arrange the ice cream scoops.

With Linen Thread wrap it multiple times around the "binding" and tie a knot then a bow.

Assemble your ice cream scoops inside the cone as shown. I scotch taped mine together to hold them. When placing the Dimensionals you can secure any wobbly pieces.

Use mini and regular Dimensionals to raise up the finished cone on the card front.

3 Neutrals Adhesive Backed Sequins in Copper color. Affix as shown.

Finish with decorating your Basic White Medium Envelope flap.

Cut a 2 3/8" x 6" piece of Glorious Gingham Designer Series Paper - Pretty Peacock.

Adhere envelope flap piece, then with paper snips, trim off excess.

You have made one "sweet" card to share with a loved one or friend!

You Can Make a Pretty Peacock Book Fun Fold Card Using Stampin' Up!s Share a Milkshake Stamp Set - Part 1

As a Foodie, I always love it when Stampin' Up! comes out with a food stamp set. There are so many possibilities for your cardmaking creations. Over the next week I'm going to share 3 projects that I hope will inspire you to give this set a try for yourself especially if you have a sweet tooth like I do.

This food stamp set would be perfect for children's birthday party invitations, dessert buffet signage, or even tags for an ice cream toppings gift basket! So many possibilities!

The Share a Milkshake collection includes the photopolymer stamp set above for $19.00 and a set of 12 metal dies for $30.00. The Best Family Ever photopolymer stamp set costs $24.00. Both of these sets will be in my stamp room for a long time to come.

Here's the front of the Book Fold Fun Fold card  and matching envelope. The color scheme used was a new color - Pecan Pie; one returning color - Pretty Peacock; and two inks, Crumb Cake and Early Espresso, that have been in the Neutrals Collection for quite a while.

Here's the inside of the Book Fold Fun Fold card that uses the Best Family Ever stamp set for the inner greeting. I love that stamp set because you can mix and match so many of the stamps. I think they have included every relative possible that you could make a card for!

Here's a close up of the front. My intent was ice cream in the flavors of caramel, fudge brownie, and peanut butter, with some fudge sauce on top. The Glorious Gingham 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper (DSP)  in Pecan Pie lent itself well to the waffle cone die. You really can't see it in the photo, but the waffle cone die, put little ridges into the paper so it feels textured like a real waffle cone.

Behind the cone is Pretty Peacock Soft Shimmer Specialty Paper that I haven't seen many demonstrators use yet. It was easy to cut on my die cutting machine. Also the glitter/shimmer didn't get all over the place like other brands do. Behind that layer was more of the Glorious Gingham DSP in Pretty Peacock.

Return here to my blog tomorrow to get the cutting measurements and assembly instructions (and more photos)! I'll see you then!

However, if you love the Share a Milkshake stamp set  # 160394 for $19 and die set #160395 for $30, and Best Family Ever stamp set #160720 for $24, please order in my online store at the link below.

Another Version of this Easy Diagonal Front Fold Gift Card Holder Using the Masterfully Made Designer Series Paper - Give it a Try

Wouldn't you love to be able to craft a darling handmade gift card holder quickly, instead of having to run to the store and pay big bucks for a greeting card to slip it inside of?

I dislike having to run out to the store for one thing I've forgotten. It is so much easier for me to get out my paper crafting supplies and make a one-of-a-kind creation for the person I'm thnking of. You can do the same and your recipient will appreciate your gift of time and love to make them something extra special. Adding the gift card or some folded money is an added bonus!

This Masterfully Made Designer Series Paper is so gorgeous and vibrant. It was really hard for me to choose which sheet to use and what cardstock colors to match with it. But if you like limeade (aka Margueritas!) then this design is for you.

Refer to the Diagram below for proper folding of the Designer Series Paper.

The supplies I used for this gift card holder were:
  • 4 1/4" Pretty Peacock cardstock and matching ink pad
  • 4" x 12" Masterfully Made Designer Series Paper, scored at 4" and 8"
  • 3" square Lemon Lime Twist cardstock and matching ink pad
  • 2 pieces of 2 3/4" Basic White cardstock
  • Small piece of Masterfully Made Designer Series Paper for the pitcher diecut using the So Refreshing Dies
  • 4 pack Tinsel Gems (2 Lemon Lime Twist Gems)
  • Small scraps of Basic White for Glass and citrus
  • 1/2" circle punch (retired)
  • Mini Dimensionals
  • exacto knife and a piece of thick backing board to cut on
  • Basic White Medium Envelope
  • 2 3/8" x 6" Masterfully Made Designer Series Paper for the exterior envelope flap

In case you missed the first post about this gift card design earlier this week, please go HERE and you will also find step by step assembly instructions there, that also apply closely to this gift card. You can always refer to my photos here for placement of all the stamped pieces.

However, if you love the So Refreshing Bundle like I do, please order in my online store at the link below. Order # 161347  $49.50 (a savings of 10% from purchasing the two items separately)

Stampin' Up!s So Refreshing Stamp Set makes for the Cutest Diagonal Front Fold Gift Card Holder for Retirements and More!

During this time of year there is always a need for Gift Card Holders with Graduations, Retirements, Birthdays and the like coming around on the calendar. You are going to love this Diagonal Front Fold Gift Card Holder, because it is super easy to make with only 5 main pieces of paper and some stamping to match.

With the Summer Solstice starting tomorrow I thought it would be fun to focus on Stampin' Up!s new set called "So Refreshing" photopolymer stamp set this week in my social media. Liquid Beverages are always so welcome during the warm summer months, and with this stamp set you can make practically any shade of beverage to coordinate with what you are desiring for your gift card needs. I went for Pink Lemonade in my sample I'm sharing with you today.

Before you start making this gift card, I recommend you read all the directions first, so you have a complete understanding of how this gift card holder is constructed.

Paper Needs:
4 1/4" square cardstock base
4" x 12" piece of Designer Series Paper, scored at 4" and 8"
Colored cardstock layer 3" square
2 pieces of Basic White 2 3/4" square layers
For the envelope flap 2 3/8" x 6" piece of matching Designer Series Paper

The supplies I used were:
4 1/4" Mossy Meadow cardstock and matching ink pad
4" x 12" Dainty Flowers Designer Series Paper (retired), scored at 4" and 8"
3" square Melon Mambo cardstock and matchingink pad
2 pieces of 2 3/4" Basic White cardstock
Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad
Daffodil Delight ink pad
4 Pastel Adhesive Backed Sequins (retired)
Small scraps of Basic White for Glass and citrus
1/2" circle punch (retired)

I suggest practicing on your grid paper with both pitcher, glass, and their filling stamps before going for it on the actual front Basic White cardstock piece.

Bonus Hint #1:  Stamp the thank you saying first. Then stamp the Mambo Melon pitcher filling, then do the outline of the pitcher with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. It is much easier to line up this way. Making sure you've left some room for the glass to be placed.

Bonus Hint #2: For the inside liquid of the glass, stamp off the Melon Mambo Ink once on your grid paper, then stamp, followed by the Memento ink glass outline. Fussy cut out the glass image.

With the Daffodil Delight ink and another scrap of Basic White, stamp several slices of "lemon" and punch them out.

Bonus Hint #3: Use an exacto knife and a cushion to carefully cut in the narrow section at the top of the glass to insert the lemon slice. The lemon slice was only cut to its center with paper snips so it would fit on the glass edge. (Like the real thing, of course!)

Raise the finished glass with lemon slice up on three mini dimensionals and place as shown in photo.

Bonus Hint #4: Add the front closure mechanism using a citrus slice as mentioned above in the photo.

Diagram below on how to do the Designer Series Paper folding:

With the second piece of the Basic White cardstock stamp the greeting in Mossy Meadow ink, and stamp the double lemon image next with Daffodil Delight ink. Stamp the lemon filling stamp first after you've stamped off once, then followed by the outline stamp at full ink strength. Add another citrus slice partially on top of the two lemons with adhesive.

Apply your piece of Designer Series Paper onto the envelope flap and trim off excess.

Awesome! You are finished! Now you can make a bunch of these for any occasion you need with any combination of supplies you have.

However, if you love the So Refreshing Stamp Set like I do, please order in my online store at the link below.

Make a Masculine Birthday Card with a Corner Fold Fun Fold that You Can Make Quickly with Stuff in Your Craft Space!

Cards for Guys are sometimes hard to come up with. Do you struggle with your designs for the men in your life? I do too. Today I'm sharing a masculine version of the Corner Fold Fun Fold Card (that's a mouthful!), done as a Birthday Card. I used some retired products that are still in my stamp room and you can do the same.

My color scheme was Night of Navy, Coastal Cabana, and Basic White along with the Waves of the Ocean Designer Series Paper that was sold early in 2022, but now retired. I used a variety of retired stamp sets. I found it fun to go back and look at some of my older sets to find just the right words I was looking for.

I really like how the corner fold and added layers make that cool looking set of 1/8" borders on the five layers in that upper right corner.

When the card is opened you have a surprise inside with the added layers on the left side, back of the front of the card. Then the normal inner Basic White layer with greeting and added stamp in the corner for effect.

Bird's eye view looking at the inside of the front cover.

Bird's eye view looking at the inner Basic White layer awaiting for your personalized
message and signature.

LET'S START MAKING THIS CARD!

1. Cut Night of Navy Card base 4 1/4" x 11", score at 5 1/2"

2. Score the Corner Fold as shown in the diagram below.
3. Cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Waves of the Ocean Designer Series Paper (DSP) for the card face. You will need to measure the 3-1/4" from the top and right side of the DSP layer like the diagram above, draw a line and trim off with paper trimmer or paper snips. You may need to trim a little extra off the diagonal edge so it will lay smoothly underneath the corner fold. Adhere when you are happy with the fit. Then you can add one large dimensional under the corner flap to secure it to the card face.

4. For the Card Face Corner Fold Layers - Cut 3" square of Night of Navy, 2 3/4" square of Basic White,  2 1/2" square of Waves of the Ocean Designer Series Paper, and a 2 1/4" circle (either die cut or punched out).

5. For the inside Corner Fold Layers - Cut 3" square of Basic White, 2 3/4" square of Waves of the Ocean Designer Series Paper, and and a 2 1/4" circle (either die cut or punched out).

6. Let's assemble the layers for the front corner fold and for the inside front area now.
Card Front - with the 3" Night of Navy square you will only put adhesive on the diagonal lower half, aligning the edge of the square with the folded over edge of the corner flap. Then continue to adhere the Basic White square and DSP square aiming for 1/8' margins on all sides.
Inner Corner Fold area - adhere the 3" Basic White square so it aligns completely with the 3" Night of Navy square on the front side. Add the 2 3/4" DSP layer.

7. For the main Basic White layer inside the card, cut a 4" x 5 -1/4" piece. Don't adhere until you have done your desired stamping in the next step.

8. Now is stamping time for the two circles and the inner card layer! I used Night of Navy and Coastal Cabana inks and the following retired stamp sets: Suite Sayings, Suite Sentiments, and Friends are Like Seashells. Refer to the photos as needed. Once all the stamping is finished, then adhere the two circles and inner layer where they go as shown in the photos.

9. For the exterior envelope flap, cut a piece of DSP 2 3/8" x 6" and adhere to the flap, trimming off the excess.

All done! Wahoo, a work of love to share! Now that you've made this card once, you can make more easily in the future.

Stampin' Up!s Silly Goose Stamp Set and Fresh as a Daisy Designer Series Paper Equals Double Easel Fun Fold Thanks Card

Are you needing an easy but fabulous fun fold to try? I recommend this Double Easel Fun Fold! I shared a Birthday card version earlier in the week, but today is a Thank You card using all current products from the 2023-24 Annual Catalog. Plus I made a YouTube video to enjoy below too!

This Thank You card also uses two of the new 2023-25 In Colors - Copper Clay and Boho Blue. Plus coordinating Fresh as a Daisy Designer Series Paper, makes this card POP! There is also a fun little technique I used to stamp the "THANKS" again on a separate scrap of Basic White, then fussy cut it out and apply with three mini-dimensionals.

Depending on how you view this card it will have a variety of looks to show you! This card is flat enough you should be able to mail with a one-ounce postage stamp.

Use Stampin' Up!s Silly Goose Stamp Set to Make This Fun Double Easel Goosebumps Birthday Card

Everyone always needs another Birthday card to have in their card supply. That way you are ready at a moment's notice when you need a birthday card to give or send. I was  inspired by Mary Knabe's design but she used the goose with the balloon in a vertical format on the front of the card. I changed it up by using the Garden Green Layer Scalloped Die and the largest retired Layering Oval in Basic White to incorporate the two geese given each other a fist bump in celebration.

I've got all the details below on how to make this card: supplies, cutting and assembly. So give this fun card a try.

Silly Goose Stamp Set  # 160866  $25.00

Silly Goose Stamp Set #160866     $25.00 USD

Let's Make This Card!

SUPPLIES NEEDED:

Daffodil Delight Cardstock
Garden Green Cardstock
Basic White Cardstock
Retired Day at the Farm 12×12 Designer Series Paper
Scalloped Contours Dies
Retired Layering Ovals - die cut size oval is approximately 2 1/2" x 3 1/2"
Colored Pencils - Pumpkin Pie, Smoky Slate
Blender Pen
Memento Tuxedo Black Ink
Tear and Tape
Very Retired Window Punch
plus your basic tools, like paper trimmer and die cutting machine

CUTTING DIRECTIONS:

Daffodil Delight Card base:
1st piece - 5 1/2" x 8", scored at 1", 2", 5"
2nd piece 3" x 6", scored at 4 1/4" on the long side

Day at the Farm 12×12 Designer Series Paper (DSP):
Cow and tree pattern - 1 piece cut 2 3/4" x 5 1 /4" and 2nd piece 3/4" x 5 1/4"
Yellow stripes - 2 3/4" x 4"

Basic White cardstock for back of card 2 3/4" x 5 1/4"

Garden Green cardstock 3 1/2" x 4 3/4" for scalloped rectangle die
Basic White for oval die 3" x 4" for stamped Goose image
Daffodil Delight 1/2" x 3" for "Goosebumps" Tag

Day at the Farm 12×12 Designer Series Paper - Envelope Flap 2-3/8" x 6"

ASSEMBLY DIRECTIONS:

1. On the larger Daffodil Delight scored piece, adhere the two pieces of the Cow & Trees from the Day at the Farm Designer Series Paper referring to the photos for placement.

2. On the Yellow Stripes DSP adhere this piece to the larger section of the second card base piece.

3. Using the photos above as a guide, close up the "easel" and affix the front section of the second base piece as shown in the photos making sure it is centered and flush with the bottom edge of the small front section of the easel.

4. Adhere a piece of Tear and Tape to the inside edge of the back section of the 2nd smaller piece so it will attach to the back of the closed easel. Keeping the easel completely closed and flat, remove the protective layer of the Tear and Tape and press to back of card/easel.

5. Stamp on the Basic White 2 3/4" x 5 1/4" the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. Adhere to the back of the card covering the back of the smaller Daffodil Delight piece, so it will "look pretty" and be hidden.

6. Using the Scalloped Rectangle die, die cut out the Garden Green cardstock.

7. On the Basic White cardstock stamp the Goose image on the front. Using the large oval die, die cut out the oval. Then color with the Pumpkin Pie and Smoky Slate colored pencils as shown. Use the Blender pen to smooth out the color so a watercolor effect is achieved.

8. Adhere the oval to the scalloped rectangle. Then adhere and center on the front easel section.

9. Stamp in Memento the "Goose Bumps" on the Daffodil Delight strip. Using the Window Punch, punch it out. Adhere as shown in the photo with mini-dimensionals.

10. If desired, affix the DSP piece to the exterior of the envelope flap, and trim off excess.

Now, wasn't that fun? After you have made one, making more will be easy as pie! Make a bunch to have on hand, using whatever DSP and large line image stamps you have on hand.

Crafting With You and Fresh as a Daisy DSP Combined with the One Sheet Wonder Process

One Sheet Wonder anyone? This sheet of Fresh as a Daisy Designer Series Paper lends itself to do exactly that! Check out the fun cards you can make with this sheet alone. I didn't use every block, but since two of these sheets come in each package, that is how I have some double cards shown below.

Played with two different colored card bases:
Wild Wheat or Early Espresso
The little floral strip on each card was a piece of retired 6" x 6" Neutrals Designer Series Paper.
I think the Early Espresso card base looks better to me.

Combined the Bubble Bath card base with a layer of Moody Mauve with its edge cut with the Basic Border Dies. Added the 2023-25 In Color Dots and Linen Thread. Mounted the Daisy image on a layer of Basic White.

Moody Mauve card base with layer of Basic White. Add to that layer the small daisy design in the upper left corner. Flip over one of the sections you aren't crazy about of this sheet and you'll get the lovely matching Moody Mauve background that is perfect to stamp on with Moody Mauve ink and place in the lower left and upper right sections. The larger daisy section comes from a different sheet in this paper pack.

Compare the card above with the card below. These two cards look substantially different with a card base color and ribbon change. The upper card uses the Burlap Ribbon. The lower card uses the Copper Clay 3/8" Textured Ribbon.
