Sparkly Easter Banner Idea

Here's a fun Easter Banner that I designed using complimentary papers and inks (Tangerine Tango, Perfect Plum, Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point, Melon Mambo and Gumball Green.) I used some remaining canvas banner flags that I had. Sponge with daubers a polka dot design using the bright inks on each one using a polka dot stencil. I found a commercial rabbit cut-out that I used to trace for the ears in silver glimmer paper. Then I made rosettes from an assortment of bright colored paper. After scoring the fold lines of the rosettes I added sticky tape to the edge and sprinkled silver glitter glass on the edge, pushing the glitter down into the tape. Then the rosette was folded carefully and hot glued into its circular shape.  The word "Easter" or you could use "Spring" was die cut letters using the silver glimmer paper glued to a matching 1-3/4" punched circle on top of a 2" silver paper scallop circle punch. 1/2" natural cotton twill tape was threaded to assemble the banner. This banner just says happy to me!

See You Later Alligator!

Here's another fun card for spring that we made at my March Stamp Club using Sale-A-Bration (SAB)  and Spring catalog products.

Color Scheme is Crushed Curry, Early Espresso, and Garden Green with Whisper White. Stamp Set - See You Later from the SAB brochure. Inside card is "Miss You Already" from the Just Sayin' set with matching Word Bubble Framelits from the Spring catalog.

The Alligator is fashioned out a variety of punches. Pennant Punch for the head and jaw. 1/4" circle punch for eyes . Googlie eyes were attached with glue dots. Body was made with the Extra Large Oval punch using the trick of only inserting half the strip of paper into one side of the punch for an elongated oval effect. The feet were a 5 petal mini flower punch (non SU). Body and Head pieces were embossed on the Big Shot with the SAB Decorative Dots embossing folder. The head is separate from the body using a little scrap of cardstock to make a "z" fold to raise the head up for a little movement. It's so fun!

Speech Bubble is Early Espresso Stampin' Write Marker hand colored on the See You Later stamp so only a portion is used, then cut out on the Big Shot with the Word Bubble Framelit and backed with Early Espresso cardstock cut with the same framelit for a fun shadow effect.

The background technique started as a piece of Whisper White cardstock, then Big Shot embossed with the SAB Decorative Dots folder. Next I took the Crushed Curry (new form) ink pad and dragged it across the dots for the desired dot darkness. Then I used the ink pad as a stamp and pressed it to front of the paper until the desired color was achieved. I think it looks like "faux" reptile skin!

Thanks for stopping by and See You Later!

Happy Easter Basket Card

This is one of my March Stamp Club creations. It's is a fun Easter card to make and give. I have some tricks to share on how I created it. Hope you'll enjoy making some of your own!

Starting with the basket - I used Chocolate Chip cardstock with one of the Deco Label framelits (choose the size that works best for you) on my Big Shot. Then I cut the label in half  crosswise on my Stampin' Trimmer. Next both basket halves went in the Square Lattice Embossing Folder on a diagonal to line up with the diagonal of the lattice design and run through the Big Shot again. Depending on your preference either side of the embossing will work great for a basket design.
Basket Handle - Again using Chocolate Chip cardstock I scotch taped two Oval Framelits together on the top side of the framelit for the handle width that I wanted. I ran the Oval Framelit pair through my Big Shot using the Magnetic Platform (I LOVE that platform, makes cutting soooo easy!) then cut the cardstock oval in half crosswise and scotch taped it to the back of the basket base.
Easter Eggs - I used the Extra Large Oval Punch and the Small Oval Punch for the two sizes of Easter Eggs. Use whatever Designer Series Paper that you have that looks good to you. (Or you could use a smaller Oval Framelit if you prefer.)
White Basket Faux Ruffle/Liner - I used a punch that isn't currently available from Stampin' Up!, but maybe you could find a similar one from your local craft store. The only trick is the border punch width was trimmed much narrower on my Stampin' Trimmer.
Card Base - Pear Pizazz Cardstock embossed on the Big Shot with a retired Embossing Folder (Vine Street) from last year's Sale - A - Bration special.
Remaining Embellishments - Retired Pretty in Pink 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon Bow;  Modern Label Punch with Teeny Tiny Wishes sentiment, sponged edge in Daffodil Delight ink; finished off with your choice of matching Candy Dots.
Adhesives -  Multipurpose Liquid Glue for Basket Handle; Snail Adhesive for basket base, eggs and modern label; Dimensionals for the one small egg; and Glue Dots for the bow.

Thanks for visiting my page and Have Fun!
