Nov. 1 and 2 Card Class

Happy Day after Thanksgiving! It has been a crazy month with 5 days of craft shows on 2 different weekends and a weekend trip to Las Vegas for a Stampin' Up! OnStage event.  Everything was wonderful, but I got behind on my posting!

Here's the cards we made at class earlier this month.

This Thanksgiving card was inspired by Ashley Van Camp. I used the Colorful Season's stamp set for the fall leaves and a retired set called Hand Penned Holidays for the verse. Starting on watercolor paper, I heat embossed the verse in gold powder. Then I did the leaves one by one in white powder, stamped with versamark first. After everything was dry, I used an aqua painter with the following inks to create these fun fall leaves. The leaves were Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody and Granny Apple Green inks. When those were finished the background was painted in Pool Party ink. The card was built on thick Whisper White cardstock, then gold foil, Granny Apple Green cardstock, and using the retired Decorative Ribbon Border punch, a small piece of Mango Melody was punched to create the small scalloped edge trim. Once everything was assembled I finished off the card with gold metallic pearls. A miniature work of art!

I wanted to try the new Mercury Glass Designer Acetate sheet in a card and this is what I came up with.  Again starting with a thick Whisper White card base, layer on Daffodil Delight cardstock, and the acetate layer. You carefully place glue dots where they won't show! Die cut the star (I used my retired Star Dies) then sent it through the Big Shot in the Hammered Metal embossing folder. The tag was a sentiment from the retired set Bright and Beautiful heat embossed in black powder, then the end punched with the banner punch. The card is finished with silver metallic thread and epoxy stars.

This card was inspired by Fiona Whitten using the Yummy Christmas stamp set and Cuckoo Clock dies. The card base is Poppy Parade, with a layer of Early Espresso, followed by Lemon Lime Twist gingham 6x6 paper. The house is stamped on Whisper White and colored with assorted Blends alcohol markers. The tag is made with retired Bunch of Banners Dies, and a greeting from Itty Bitty Christmas stamped in Poppy Parade.

This is my original design using the stamp set From Our House to Yours. This stamp set needs the help of the Stamparatus to get accurate results in building the houses. The card base is Real Red. The Let It Snow Designer Series Specialty Paper is fun because of the glitter that is on the trees. The houses were stamped on Whisper White cardstock in Old Olive, Mint Macaron, Shaded Spruce and Pool Party inks then the doors in Real Red, Shaded Spruce and Old Olive inks, and mounted on a layer of Pool Party. The card is finished off with the 3/8" Shaded Spruce and Gold Striped Ribbon.

This card is inspired by Julie Gilson. Using the Cup of Christmas stamp set and Cup of Cheer Dies, you can create this beautiful card built on Whisper White cardstock, Real Red layer, and Let it Snow Designer Series Specialty Paper. I used retired Sizzix adhesive on the Real Red cardstock before I ran the poinsettia die through the Big Shot. The same process was used for the leaves and bow. The card is finished off with some red sequins. This was the most popular card of the class by far!

This is my original design. The supplies required are Pool Party, Shaded Spruce, and Whisper White cardstock. The Let it Snow Designer Series Specialty paper is for the background. The stamp sets were Snowman Season and Lined Alphabet. You will also need the Snowman Builder punch and a retired bottle of Crystal Effects. After you fussy cut out the stamped letters, once they are attached to the card front that is the time to add the Crystal Effects lightly to create "raised" letters and let them dry thoroughly before using.

For fun, the class attendees had the option to make a set of these 3 tags from the Tags, Tags, Tags stamp set and die.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Holidays to you!

Perfectly Plaid Friendship Class

One of my faithful stamp class ladies decided she wanted to invite some friends over to her home and make cards using the Perfectly Plaid stamp set and Wrapped in Plaid 6x6 Designer Series Paper Stack. We had a great time, as 4 of 6 attendees were new stampers. Everyone was a success and their cards turned out lovely!

Here's the collection we made!

Advent Calendar Class

Last Saturday, October 12, I hosted a class to make the Christmas Countdown Calendar from the 2019 Holiday Catalog. Five ladies signed up and we had a great time! To finish off the calendar I shopped at Hobby Lobby for the ribbon and holiday picks. I went to Ikea for the mini gold ornaments. Then I used some lace I had in my stash. With the help of a hot glue gun, the result is lovely I think.
