Delectable Sweet and Treats Holiday Card

Since I love sweets of practically any kind, I was drawn to this card design immediately. I cased the design from Lisa Curcio who was the #1 Demonstrator in America at our OnStage Virtual Convention last weekend. The Sweets and Treats stamp set is one I hadn’t used yet and when I saw her card I knew I wanted to give it a try.

Her technique is a type of buckle fun fold.

Notice how the images are stamped towards the right fold area, that's to be sure to leave enough to go through the punched opening to close the card.

Here’s how to make the card along with products used:

Mossy Meadow card base 4-1/4” x 8-5/8", score at 3-1/8”
Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper (DSP) 4” x 5-1/4” - adhere to cardbase
Real Red cardstock 3-1/4” x 4-1/2” - adhere to DSP with even margins
Thick Basic White cardstock 3” x 8-1/2”, score on the long side at 4-1/4".

With the Thick White cardstock make sure the fold is on the right, stamp your images in Memento ink from the Sweets and Treats stamp set (glass cake stand and fruitcake) and stamp on a scrap of thick basic white for pie and candy apple.

Color images using Stampin' Blends in Real Red, Old Olive, Cinnamon Cider, and Gray Granite.
Fussy cut-out pie and candy apple then raise with mini dimensionals in front of cake plate/fruitcake images.

Attach linen thread around stick and tie bow, then roll up a glue dot like a sausage to affix stick to base.
Add 3 Red Rhinestones to top of fruitcake.
Paint Wink of Stella on top of pie crust.
Tag of Basic White 1/2" x 2-1/4"  stamped in Memento ink and raised on mini dimensionals.

Now for the tricky part! Using the classic label punch, go all the way to the back of the punch throat, punch out a middle section of the "slit" on the left flap. With a pencil mark a dot where the width of the thick white cardstock lays on top of the first punched slit aligning on both left and right sides. Then punch twice more, one on the left side extending to the pencil mark and repeat for right side. Use the already punched section to help you line up so the slit looks like one large complete classic label punch slot. Then place the left side of the basic white tab into the slot as shown in the photo.

I hope you have fun making this yummy card. Once you’ve made one, all the rest you make will be a piece of cake! Have a sweet day!

Inside Out Buckle Card

I'm excited to bring you another original video on the INSIDE OUT BUCKLE CARD filled with many helpful crafting tips. I designed this card for a mail-in swap for the upcoming OnStage at Home virtual event Stampin' Up! will be holding in early November.  I hope you are inspired to make this card too!

Here's the cutting dimensions:

Real Red:  Card base cut 4-1/4" x 11" then scored at 4-1/2" from the left horizontal edge, and 1" from the right horizontal edge.

Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper: Front layer is 4" x 5", then cut into two pieces by slicing a 3/4" x 4" piece off the 5" long side. Make sure to keep the plaid matching.  Belt is 1-3/4" x 4-1/4"

Mossy Meadow: Belt is 2" x 4-1/2". Buckle is 2" x 2-1/4"

Whisper White: Inner layer - 4" x 5-1/4". For tag, a scrap larger than 2-1/2" square.

For an added designer touch, add a 2-3/8" x 6" piece of Designer Series Paper to the envelope flap, then trim off the excess with paper snips. Your recipient will love that touch!
