Create With Stampin' Up!s Share a Milkshake Stamp Set to Make the Sweetest and Most Delicious Gate Fun Fold Card with a Mega Belly Band

 I am having such fun creating with the Share a Milkshake Bundle. Today's creative idea for you is a Gate Fun Fold Card with Mega Belly Band!

The secret to making a Belly Band is to not wrap the cardstock band around the card too tightly. You want it to be snug, but still able to slip easily without having to bend the cardbase too much. With today's card there is about an 1/8" gap between the ends of my belly band that the large die cut elongated hexagon covers quite nicely.

The Share a Milkshake Bundle includes the Photopolymer stamp set and matching dies of the same name.

Let's make this fun fold!

Start with the following:

Bubble Bath cardstock - cut 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", score at 2 1/8" and 6 3/8"

Glorious Gingham Designer Series Paper (DSP) - 2 pieces of Berry Burst cut 1 7/8" x 5 1/4"

Belly Band of Berry Burst cardstock - 1" x 8 1/2", score at 2 1/8" and 6 3/8"

For the Inner Card Layer to write your personal message wishing the recipient a Happy Birthday:

Basic White cardstock inner layer cut 4" x 5 1/4"

Stamp Happy Birthday greeting from Best Family Ever in Berry Burst ink.

Stamp dish of ice cream in lower right hand corner using ink in Gray Granite, 

 Berry Burst, and Bubble Bath. Stamp the bowl first in Gray Granite. Add the Decorative design stamp in Berry Burst. Finish with the ice cream mound in Bubble Bath.

On a scrap of Basic White, stamp the spoon image in Gray Granite and die cut out 

using the Share a Milkshake Dies. Adhere as shown.

Adhere inner layer inside cardbase.

Cut a Bubble Bath cardstock piece 2 1/2" x 5 1/2", then die cut out with 2nd to the largest elongated hexagon from the Nested Essentials Dies.

Wrap Belly Band around card so the ends will hide under the Bubble Bath hexagon, adhere with Stampin' Seal adhesive.

Preparing the pieces for the complete milkshake next:

Start with Basic White piece cut at 1 1/2" x 2 3/4". Then stamp in Gray Granite ink only the decorative portion of the glass. Then die cut out the glass.

Cut piece of  Bubble Bath color - Soft Shimmer Specialty Paper 1 1/4" x 2 1/4"

Cut piece of  Berry Burst color - Soft Shimmer Specialty Paper 1 1/4" x 2 1/4"

Then die cut out the two scoops.

For the Straws:

You will only stamp the diagonal lines image on a scrap of Basic White. Stamp once in Berry Burst ink and a second time with Gray Granite ink. Die cut out the straw. You will probably need a post it note or a piece of washi tape to hold the die in place as it is sooooo tiny.

Assembling the Milkshake:

Insert the two straws in the Bubble Bath scoop slit and secure with a small piece of scotch tape on the reverse. Then add the Berry Burst scoop and secure with a small piece of scotch tape on the reverse. Finally you will put the scoop/straw portion coming over the top of the glass, just a little bit, and secure with a small piece of scotch tape on the reverse. Finish with applying  multiple Mini Dimensionals.

For the Tag:

Basic White cardstock cut 3/4" x 4"

Stamp "Celebrate" in Berry Burst ink

Banners Pick a Punch - carefully punch pennant ends on both ends until desired length is achieved. May take 2-3 punches on each end to attain desired length of about 3".

Before the Milkshake is applied to the Belly Band, do the following:

8" Basic White Baker's Twine - color it with Dark Berry Burst Stampin' Blend Alcohol Maker while it lays flat on your grid paper. Roll it over lengthwise and color the other side. Use a kleenex to remove excess ink, then use heat gun to dry twine before tying the bow around the base of the milkshake glass.

To Finish:

Remove the backing from the mini dimensionals to raise up completed milkshake onto elongated hexagon shape.

Apply Celebrate tag with a mini dimensional at each end and Stampin' Seal in the middle.

Add 2 Bubble Bath colored embellishments from the Tinsel Gems 4 pack.

For a matching Envelope flap, cut a 2 3/8" x 6" piece of the matching Berry Burst Glorious Gingham Designer Series Paper. Adhere to exterior flap and trim off excess. You are done!

Sit back and admire your creation for a bit!

You Can Make a Pretty Peacock Book Fun Fold Card Using Stampin' Up!s Share a Milkshake Stamp Set - Part 2

Here's the nitty gritty on the cutting and assembling of this cute Book Fun Fold Card.

A reminder of the two stamp sets used.

Card base - Pretty Peacock 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 4 1/4" and 5 1/2"

Front Layer - Glorious Gingham Designer Series Paper - Pretty Peacock

Narrow Piece - 1" x 4"

Square Piece - 4 1/4" square

Adhere together the 1 1/4" Binding portion of Fun Fold with adhesive.

Cut Inner Layer of Basic White Square Piece - 4" square.

Select greeting from Best Family Ever stamp set and stamp in Pretty Peacock Ink.

Adhere stamped Basic White layer inside of card.

From Left to Right around card base

Early Espresso cardstock  2" x 3", die cut burlap piece from Share a Milkshake Dies.

Pretty Peacock - Soft Shimmer Specialty Paper 3 1/2" square, die cut with largest Stylish Shapes Circle.

Basic White cardstock 1 3/4" x 3 1/4" for tag. Stamp greeting first in Pretty Peacock Ink, then die cut with second to the smallest Countryside Corners Die.

Pecan Pie sheet of Glorious Gingham Designer Series Paper 2 1/2" square, 

and die cut with waffle cone die. 

On the front of the book fun fold, adhere the Pretty Peacock Shimmer Circle.

Then with liquid glue, lightly dot the Early Espresso "burlap" piece and 

adhere to Shimmer paper as shown.

Place Dimensionals on the back of the tag and adhere as shown.

With 3 scraps of Basic White cardstock 1 1/4" x 1 3/4", stamp your ice cream scoops in Crumb Cake ink, Pecan Pie ink, and Early Espresso ink. (The reason you see more scoops than are needed is I couldn't decide if I liked the scoops stamped on Crumb Cake or Basic White, but Basic White won out!)

With a very small scrap of Early Espresso cardstock, die cut the little blob of fudge sauce.

Fold waffle cone into the cone shape and adhere the front flap to close it only. 

You need the room inside to arrange the ice cream scoops.

With Linen Thread wrap it multiple times around the "binding" and tie a knot then a bow.

Assemble your ice cream scoops inside the cone as shown. I scotch taped mine together to hold them. When placing the Dimensionals you can secure any wobbly pieces.

Use mini and regular Dimensionals to raise up the finished cone on the card front.

3 Neutrals Adhesive Backed Sequins in Copper color. Affix as shown.

Finish with decorating your Basic White Medium Envelope flap.

 

Cut a 2 3/8" x 6" piece of Glorious Gingham Designer Series Paper - Pretty Peacock.

Adhere envelope flap piece, then with paper snips, trim off excess. 

 You have made one "sweet" card to share with a loved one or friend!

You Can Make a Pretty Peacock Book Fun Fold Card Using Stampin' Up!s Share a Milkshake Stamp Set - Part 1

As a Foodie, I always love it when Stampin' Up! comes out with a food stamp set. There are so many possibilities for your cardmaking creations. Over the next week I'm going to share 3 projects that I hope will inspire you to give this set a try for yourself especially if you have a sweet tooth like I do. 

This food stamp set would be perfect for children's birthday party invitations, dessert buffet signage, or even tags for an ice cream toppings gift basket! So many possibilities!

The Share a Milkshake collection includes the photopolymer stamp set above for $19.00 and a set of 12 metal dies for $30.00. The Best Family Ever photopolymer stamp set costs $24.00. Both of these sets will be in my stamp room for a long time to come.

Here's the front of the Book Fold Fun Fold card  and matching envelope. The color scheme used was a new color - Pecan Pie; one returning color - Pretty Peacock; and two inks, Crumb Cake and Early Espresso, that have been in the Neutrals Collection for quite a while.

Here's the inside of the Book Fold Fun Fold card that uses the Best Family Ever stamp set for the inner greeting. I love that stamp set because you can mix and match so many of the stamps. I think they have included every relative possible that you could make a card for!

Here's a close up of the front. My intent was ice cream in the flavors of caramel, fudge brownie, and peanut butter, with some fudge sauce on top. The Glorious Gingham 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper (DSP)  in Pecan Pie lent itself well to the waffle cone die. You really can't see it in the photo, but the waffle cone die, put little ridges into the paper so it feels textured like a real waffle cone. 

Behind the cone is Pretty Peacock Soft Shimmer Specialty Paper that I haven't seen many demonstrators use yet. It was easy to cut on my die cutting machine. Also the glitter/shimmer didn't get all over the place like other brands do. Behind that layer was more of the Glorious Gingham DSP in Pretty Peacock.

Have You Tried Combining the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set from Stampin' Up! With The Faux Silk Technique? Share This With A Friend! The Results Are Gorgeous!

Get excited! You are going to learn how to do the Faux Silk Technique right here! Sometimes as a seasoned cardmaker your inspiration can run dry. Here on this post is a very easy technique you can do over and over again for any type of occasion card you need. Then when you mail or give one of these style cards, you will get highly praised and thanked! Won't you feel great?!

 My sample card photos are a Fall Birthday card using the Celebrate Sunflowers and Go To Greetings stamp sets. The pretty fall themed paper comes from the Celebrate Everything Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. 

Did you know Stampin' Up! has color-coordinated cardstock, patterned papers, inks, ribbons, and embellishments? Oh my goodness, it makes card designing so much easier. You don't have to rack your brain, saying to yourself, "Do these colors match?" because you've purchased items from the big box craft stores that really don't go together. You will never have to worry using Stampin' Up!s fabulous Color Collections. You will make beautiful cards that match perfectly everytime!

 From the Regals Collection on page 123 of the current Annual Catalog you will use Crushed Curry and Shaded Spruce cardstock and the matching ink. The Early Espresso ink is from the Neutrals Collection also on page 123.

In the photo above I always recommend decorating the exterior of your envelope flap with some matching DSP. Cut a 2-3/8" x 6" piece and adhere to the flap with Stampin' Seal and trim off the excess with your Paper Snips. It's so pretty!

Look at the above and below photos. Do you see the subtle wrinkly effect the white tissue paper has on the DSP? It softens the bright colors of the DSP and gives a fun unique texture that is definitely one-of-a-kind each time you do this technique. Your cards will reach a whole new level of beauty when you add this technique to your cardmaking designs.

LET'S BEING CRAFTING!

FAUX SILK TECHNIQUE:

1. With the paper trimmer cut a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of the Celebrate Everything DSP.

2. Look through your gift wrap supplies and find the white tissue paper. You'll need a piece 5" x 7".

3. Locate your white school glue stick.

4. Once back at your crafting station - crumple up the piece of tissue paper.

5. Run your white glue stick all over the face of the DSP making sure the edges have glue too. The paper may start to bend slightly, that's ok.

6. Uncrumple the tissue, but don't smooth it completely flat again. Lay the center of the tissue centered on the piece of DSP. Start smoothing gently from the center towards the outer edges. You want some wrinkles left, just not big ones. With your index finger make sure the tissue is sealed on the outer edges of the DSP. Let it dry for a while.

7.  When everything feels dry to the touch, take your paper snips and flip the DSP over, and carefully cutting the excess tissue away from the DSP without cutting into the DSP accidentally.

WHILE THE TECHNIQUE IS DRYING - TIME TO CUT AND STAMP:

1. With your paper trimmer, cut the Crushed Curry cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2", score at 4-1/4". Fold your card in half and use your bone folder or a clear block edge to crease the fold well.

2. Cut the Shaded Spruce cardstock layer at 4" x 5-1/4".

3. Cut Basic White cardstock for the inside layer at 4" x 5-1/4".

4. Cut another piece of Basic White cardstock at 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" for the stamping of the sunflower, sunflower center, two leaves, and greeting.

5. With Crushed Curry Ink - stamp the sunflower image, and die cut it out.

6. With Shaded Spruce Ink - stamp two leaves and die cut them out.

7. Near an edge that remains of the Basic White piece, stamp your greeting in Early Espresso ink. Using your paper snips, fussy cut it out, and save for the assembly steps.

8.  Flip your sunflower stamp over and ink just the center area with Early Espresso Ink pad. Press what's left of the Basic White cardstock piece onto the inked center. Rub with fingers with out moving the paper. Lift up and turn over to dry. Fussy cut the center out.

9. Before gluing the Early Espresso center down on the sunflower, take a Blender pen and going from the center of the sunflower out, blend the ink to create a shaded effect about 1/4" into the petals. Don't rub the Blender pen too hard. I recommend using it on its side to get the desired effect.

10. Glue the Early Espresso Sunflower Center to the sunflower matching its location, so it fits perfectly.

FINAL ASSEMBLY STEPS:

1. With the Stampin' Seal adhere your tissue/DSP layer to the Shaded Spruce Layer.

2. Wrap the Linen Thread around the double layer 3 times, scotch tapE the cut ends on the back of the Shaded Spruce layer.

3. With Stampin' Seal adhere the double layer and thread to the Crushed Curry card front.

4. Adhere the Basic White Layer to the inside of the card for your personal message.

5. Scotch tape the two leaves to the back of the Sunflower as shown in my photos.

6. Raise the entire sunflower/leaves with dimensionals and affix to the card front. 

7. Cut one or two dimensionals in half and apply to the back of fussy cut greeting and apply to cardfront above the linen thread.

8. Apply the Iridescent Rhinestones to the card front as shown. (The rhinestones I used are retired, but my substitution on the shopping list will be just as pretty.)

9. If you haven't already, apply the DSP to the envelope flap, trim excess, and ALL DONE!

Don't forget to sign or stamp the back of your card/artwork and date it!

Pick This Birthday Card For Your Friend Made with Stampin' Up!s Sweetest Cherries Stamp Set and a Simple Four Color Theme

Since we are still in the season of summer for a little while longer, and cherries grow in the summertime, do you have a friend who would love to receive this birthday card from you? 

I love to work in Black and White and one (or two) other colors. But if you are going to nit-pik, technically there is a fifth color, but it is used so little, I'm not counting it.

Now matter how many colors you include, this card design is an easy one to put together by following the photo below.

Retired Products used – Pattern Party Designer Series Paper & Scalloped Seasonal Layers Dies. You may find these items offered on Ebay or Etsy, or feel free substitute what you think looks pleasing to you.

Project Directions:

Cut Sweet Sorbet cardstock card base 5-1/2" x 8-1/2", score at 4-1/4".

 

Cut Basic White cardstock layer - need two pieces - one for front layer 

and one for inner layer 4" x 5-1/4".

Cut Pattern Party Designer Series Paper (DSP) black diamond pattern - 3/4" x 4".

Cut Pattern Party Gingham pattern 2-1/2" x 4" and 3/4" x 4" strip for inner card layer.

Take one piece of the Basic White layer and lay (do not glue) the two pieces of black and white on the front in the position shown in the photo.

Stamp the images shown. If you are successful on the first try. Then go ahead and adhere the black and white pieces to the Basic White piece.

Cut Granny Apple Green cardstock for the scallop die 3/4" x 4". After die cutting adhere to card front as shown.

Use some Basic White scraps for cherry parts. I recommend three various size pieces. One pieces large enough to stamp two cherries at each end say 2" x 5". Another piece a half inch wide by 5 inches long for the stems being stamped also one at each end. Lastly a 1" wide by 4" piece for the two leaves, again stamped at each end. By doing it this way, you will have a "handle" to hold on to when using the Cherry Builder Punch.

After stamping and punching the cherry parts start assembly using glue dots to stick the stems on, put the leaves together and later add the bow. The cherries and leaves portions are raised up with mini dimensionals on the card front.

Finish by adding your Rhinestone Jewels. Add the second piece of Basic White to the inner card and add the small strip of DSP for an accent.

Add a coordinating piece of DSP for the envelope flap cut at 2-3/8" x 6". Adhere and trim excess.

He's the Man Pop Up Front Step Card

Do you ever have one of those creative times where you think you might have come up with a new way to do something? I think I might have improved upon the Pop Up Front Step Card design by using a piece of Window Sheet to give the appearance of a "see-through" scene. 

I'm still creating with the He's the Man Suite and I just couldn't resist to have that VW Bus appear like it was on a road! What do you think? Did I succeed?

 

On the card base diagram below you will be placing two strips of Tear and Tape in the far right section to build your foldable base.  Refer to photo below.

Stampin' Seal adhesive will be used on the Window Sheet at the left edge and the far right section.

Crease the plastic sheet well on the score lines, but don't crack the plastic.

Cutting Dimensions for the rest of the card:

Top Panel - Early Espresso - 3" x 4"

Designer Series Paper - 2-7/8" x 3-7/8"

VW Bus is attached to Window Sheet with Stampin' Seal

Lower Panel - Early Espresso - 2" x 4"

Designer Series Paper - 1-7/8" x 3-7/8"

Soft Succulent - 1-3/8" x 3-1/4" is meant to cover up the Window Sheet.

Punch Out from Designer Series Paper raised on Dimensionals. 

Finished with two punch out stars and the Rustic Metallic Dots.

Basic White Layer - 4" x 5-1/4"

Stamped sentiments in Early Espresso ink.

Seed Pod Thanksgiving Card

 Do you love to play with color? I do! I was inspired by the Colour Inspiration Challenge Facebook Group recently and more specifically the card submitted by The Crafty Owl from the UK.  I loved how she used the seed pods from the Enjoy the Moment stamp set.

 

So I started with the color and card idea then worked on giving it my own take for the Thanksgiving card below.

Products Used to Create this Card:

Early Espresso cardstock card base

retired Gilded Autumn DSP - stamped first with retired Hand Penned Holidays stamp set, then run thru with the Tasteful Texture EF - adhere to card base.

Basic White cardstock piece for inner card  4x5-1/4

retired Champagne Foil 2 x 5-1/4

Basic White 1-7/8 x 5-1/4

using the SAB Textures and Frames stamp set "blob" image. start in the middle of the basic white strip and stamp Crushed Curry blob, move to right Cinnamon Cider, and just a small portion of a blob in Pool Party. Moving to the left of the Crushed Curry, stamp Pool Party, then small piece of Cinnamon Cider.

Using the seed pod images shown from the Enjoy the Moment stamp set and Early Espresso ink stamp the images as shown.

Adhere the Champagne foil and stamped basic white layer together. Take the Bumblebee gingham ribbon and wrap it around the two layers and tie a square knot. Trim ribbon ends. Raise up on dimensionals.

Now you have a lovely, unique, nature-inspired Thanksgiving card to give to loved ones. Let them know how grateful you are for them being in your life!
