Melanie Sicker card CASE

Who doesn't love BOLD birthday cards? That's why I had to CASE Melanie Sicker's layout for these cute, cute birthday cards to use in my June classes. The only item not currently available is the pink/black baker's twine. You can also substitute any black and white designer series paper for the small strip underneath the banner.  Speaking of banner that is cut by hand on the ends as it is too wide to go in the banner punch.

Assorted Cards I've Made Recently

Summer and early fall were a busy time. I branched out and put my cards into a local outdoor arts show. I placed a variety of designs there and enjoyed some success given the remoteness of the location and the short time the show ran. Here are some of the cards I sold.

Stamp Set - Watercolor Words

These cards were made from some supplies of a recent Paper Pumpkin kit.

More cards from the Watercolor Words stamp set.

Such an easy card using the  Rose Garden Thinlits, emphasizing a positive-negative effect.

I tried my hand on the watercolor washing technique. It's hard to see put I've placed mini hearts punched from vellum inside the jars.

Fresh Fruit stamp set and Fruit Stand Designer Series Paper, plus the words from Watercolor Words.

Stylized Birthday stamp, striped washi tape with gold foil and soft suede cardstock.

All these cards had some inspiration from Pinterest, but I made them my own.

Thanks for looking!

On Stage Vancouver British Columbia Event - Nov. 5

Going to On Stage in Vancouver, British Columbia was so fun. Here's Heidi (my downline) and myself in front of the big hot air balloon in the lobby. It was a long day 8 am - 6 pm but worth every minute. We learned so much, won prize patrol, received some all attendee giveaways and much more that I have to keep secret a little while longer! I always love going to these events!

Here are the swaps I took to share with others. They were inspired by many from Pinterest but I made them my own. I got lots of ohhh and ahhh's on them. Made me feel good!

April 16, 2016 Card Class

Here's the cards my stamping group made for April. Since Stampin' Up! is promoting #imbringingbirthdaysback I thought I would do the same with this collection of cards.

I CASEd this sunny card from Pinterest, but it didn't have a watermark on it.
The source I believe is www.inchofcreativity.com
The materials used were the thick Whisper White cardstock, Crushed Curry cardstock and heavy vellum, Tree Builder punch to make the clouds, the Sunburst Thinlits Die, Circle Framelits, Hello stamp set from the recent Sale-A-Bration promotion, and It's My Party Designer Series Paper plus The Big Shot die machine. Crushed Curry ink, Basic Black Archival Ink and a Rhinestone Jewel to top it off. The only non SU item was the vellum adhesive tape. Unfortunately I've had that so long I don't remember where I purchased it.

I CASEd the layout from www.stampingwithkristi.com but changed up a few materials and increased the size of the rose to the larger one from the Rose Garden Thinlits Dies. Those dies coordinate with the Rose Wonder Stamp set. The color theme is Pool Party, Whisper White, Blushing Bride, Mossy Meadow, Watermelon Wonder plus the lovely floral from Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper pack. You'll also need the Blushing Bride ribbon from the Love Blossoms Embellishment kit, the small flower punch from Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, Pearl Jewels, Fine Tip Glue Pin, Dimensionals and your Big Shot machine.

I was inspired by many cards on Pinterest that used the Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper. This is the easiest card to make! You need Mint Macaron cardstock, Basic Black cardstock, two pieces (rose and lace) from the Timeless Elegance DSP, a sponge dauber, Mint Macaron ink, and the Mint Macaron Lace ribbon. Just sponge lightly over the roses in your choice of location until you achieve your desired darkness of ink. Assemble the layers and tie the lace. The greeting I used was from Circle of Spring stamp set stamped in Black Stazon ink.

My card's layout was inspired by Barb Mullikin of www.barbstamps.com.
This drapery fold is so lovely and really popular now plus it is not too hard to do. You'll just need your Score Board to make it happen. The color scheme is Whisper White, Blackberry Bliss, Calypso Coral, Old Olive and Lost Lagoon. The Designer Series Paper is Wildflower Fields from the recent Sale-A-Bration promotion. You can't see it in the photo, but I used the Stripes embossing folder on the Blackberry Bliss paper for added texture. The stamp set is Watercolor Words. The flower and leaves are fussy cut and assembled before attaching it to the Lost Lagoon ribbon. The flower center is a polka dotted brad that's about 4 years old I had in my collection.

Hope you are having a sunny spring and enjoying making pretty cards like these. Thanks for stopping by!

August 8 and 9, 2015 Stamp Club Cards

First of all, let me just say I CASed all these cards because they were so lovely. Three came from Convention swaps and one from Pinterest. I just had to share them with my ladies!  I'm trying something new with this post - a supply list of all the ingredients it took to make these cards. If you'd like to purchase something, just visit Shop Online button connected with this site.

This card has a stained glass effect by replacing the butterfly back in the cutout after sponge daubing several colors of the middle piece of white cardstock. So pretty!

July Club Card #1 - an Original

This was a fun card to design. I used two new stamp sets - Remarkable You (Calla) and Watercolor Words. The new Brick Embossing Folder was fun to work with too on the Big Shot with the lighter weight Whisper White. I used the Oval Framelits to cut out the lightweight Whisper White cardstock, which were stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink for the images. I used Crushed Curry and Pear Pizazz to color the stem and stamens. Then I traced the outer edge of the same framelits and cut out the English Garden Designer Series Paper by hand to mount the stamped images on.

I used the new heavier weight Whisper White to make the card base. Cut the sheet lengthwise at 4.25". I scored the paper at 1", 2", and 6.5". Then I glued on the two pieces of embossed bricks on. Then I used Dimensionals to raise the ovals off of the bricks. The only tricky part is to have an envelope near by so you can place the calla oval exactly where it needs to go, so it will fit in the envelope all folded up!  The bee was fussy cut out of the English Garden DSP and then the new Gold Metallic Thread was looped around the bee back multiple times with the help of a glue dot or two to hold it in place. Then the bee and thread were mounted on the card with another Dimensional.

Classy and simple, I just love it! Thanks for taking a look!
