June Stamp and Chat Class Card + Favor Box

Do you ever have something catch your eye, then you have to go find out what it is, and then purchase it? That is what happened to me with the Split Card Textures Dies. I started noticing other demonstrators using using them in their card creations and I had to get my own set. They were hiding in the 2022-23 Annual Catalog and I'd never noticed them!

This original card was a popular card this past weekend at my Stamp and Chat classes.

It is very easy to make with only 5 cardstock pieces, plus ribbon and embellishments.

Start with Evening Evergreen cardstock base cut at 5.5" x 8.5", scored at 4.25". Add inside layer of Basic White cut 4" x 5.25" for handwritten message.

Retired – Beautifully Penned Designer Series Paper (Sale-A- Bration freebie) but you can substitute whatever you think looks best from your stash of Designer Series Papers. Cut 4" x 5.25", then die cut with Split Card Texture die. Glue down to card front.

Pale Papaya cardstock cut at 3.25" x 4.25" and die cut with Scalloped Contours Die.

Stamp greeting from Happiness Abounds stamp set with Evening Evergreen ink near bottom of Pale Papaya piece.

Wrap a 5" piece of Evening Evergreen Organza ribbon around top of Pale Papaya layer. Secure with scotch tape on reverse side. Adhere Pale Papaya layer flat to card front as shown in photo.

Basic White cardstock cut 3" x 4", stamped in Memento Ink with Hand Penned Petals stamp set image. Die Cut out and affix with dimensionals to card front as shown in photo.

Add Evening Evergreen ribbon bow, glue dotted down as shown. Add bling of your choice.

Finish with a matching envelope flap of 2-3/8" x 6" adhered to back of envelope. Trim off excess paper.

The shopping cart is filled with the products used to make this card. The tools listed below are not added, but you sure can. You can delete anything out of the cart you already have or add additional products you need.

Every time I hold card classes in my home I always give my stampers a little table favor. This month was a simple one created with items I already had on hand.

The mini pizza boxes received a top layer of Strawberry Designer Series Paper then I added a Sweet Strawberry stamped in Poppy Parade and Real Red on a punched out Basic White circle. Little greeting was in Memento ink. Heart embellishment was very retired and needed to be used up. Finished circle was raised on dimensionals.

Inside the mini pizza box were two different cards that were created with extra pieces from the June 2022 Pick of the Crop Paper Pumpkin kit I had just received plus other items I had on hand.  My guests loved there treat!

OnStage at Home Make and Take Alternate Ideas

Here are three ideas to inspire you! I used the Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper, Hand-Penned Petals Stamp Set, and Penned Flower Dies for my OnStage at Home make and take cards last month.

The card above uses an inlaid technique for the flower bunch. You just die-cut out the images twice and build the bouquet the way you want it. I did put some scotch tape on the back for security.

This card used sponge daubers and ink pads to lightly color the flower image. I had not done this technique before and it took a little practice to keep the ink light and airy.
I am also the type of person who likes even borders, but I went out of my comfort zone and put the papers at interesting angles. It didn't hurt too much LOL!

This card used also used sponge daubers and ink pads to lightly color the flower image.  I think this card is my favorite of the three shared with you today!

Give these ideas a try! Thanks for looking today!

Special Blog Hop Highlighting a Fun Fold Card

Welcome! A group of Silver level Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from across the globe have combined their incredible talents to share some Fun Folds for today's blog hop! We also are working on building our businesses by making connections with each other. It's a great group of very creative ladies. You probably know that by now since you're about half-way through the hop when you've arrived here.

However you have arrived here, either from Tricia's Stamping Creations or from one of my social media links, I'm very glad you are here to enjoy my creation! Don't forget to leave a comment, I'd love to read your thoughts about today's fun fold card.

Vertical Center Step Card

Color Theme - Misty Moonlight, Pale Papaya, Pear Pizzazz and Basic White.

f

Start with the Hand-Penned Petals Stamp Set and matching Penned Flower Dies plus the Hand Penned Designer Series Paper. I make my own storage for my dies in case you were wondering.

Sneak Peek of the card inside and how the center step fun fold works.

Let's Begin Creating this Card:

Step 1: Use the template above to cut and score your 4-1/4" x 11" piece of Misty Moonlight cardstock.

Step 2: Cut your Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper as follows:
Center Piece - 2-1/8" x 4-1/2" and glue that down first.
Bottom Horizontal Piece - 7/8" x 4-1/8" glue that down next.
Two Vertical Pieces both cut 7/8" x 4-1/4" and glue those down.
Basic White Cardstock for inside card - 4" x 4-1/4" and glue down.

Step 3: With a 3/4" x 4-1/2" piece of Misty Moonlight, die cut the scallop edge treatment. Hint! Line up the straight edge with the straight edge of the 4-1/2" side. Run through die cutting machine. Affix as shown in photo.

Step 4: Using either circle punches or circle dies, select 1-1/4" and 1-3/8" circles. Stamp the get well greeting on a scrap of Basic White Cardstock. Then cut your Basic White circle, followed by a scrap of Misty Moonlight and cut that circle. Affix those two circles together. Use mini-dimensionals to affix to card front as shown.

Step 5: Cut a 12" piece of Pale Papaya 3/8" Open Weave Ribbon and wrap around center section and tie a bow as shown near the greeting.

Step 6: Making the Focal Point Floral image (Don't give up - you're almost finished!)
  • You will need small pieces of Pale Papaya, Pear Pizzazz and Basic White cardstock, plus Cardstock Vellum.
  • Using the outline largest floral die cut the Pale Papaya piece.
  • With scraps of Pear Pizzazz you will cut the leaf portions again with the same die.
  • Die cut the floral image in Basic White.
  • Using the Basic White die cut, you will fit and trim the Pear Pizzazz leaf pieces into position then glue them down.  Let dry.
  • Using a Fine Tip Glue Pen, glue your Basic White floral frame to a larger piece of Vellum Cardstock. Let glue dry. When dry, carefully fussy cut around the flower edges and expose the leaves so the Pear Pizzazz will show through when you glue the layers together next.
  • Using the Fine Tip Glue Pen again glue the white and vellum layer to the papaya and pear layer. Weight with a clear stamp block to dry.
Step 7: When flower focal point is all dry. Put several mini-dimensionals on the back and attach to the center of the card as shown in the photo. Embellish with Champagne Rhinestones to complete the card.

Step 8: Cut a 2-3/8" x 6" matching piece of the Hand Penned Designer Series Paper for your envelope flap. Glue down and trim with paper snips.

Hand-Penned Spanner Card

Spanner Card anyone? I had never seen one before Lisa's Stamp Studio shared their design online. I had to make one for myself. As always, I changed it up a bit using a different color of card base. The Misty Moonlight really goes well in this design I think. I also used a different pattern of the Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper (DSP).

In the closed position you really can't see the spanner part.

Still can't see it.

Now you get the idea. The piece of window sheet created the span between the two narrow side pieces, or one could say it "bridged the gap"!

The innermost layers.

SPANNER CARD CUTTING DIMENSIONS:

BASE:

·        Misty Moonlight cardstock, cut at 5-1/2” x 8-1/2”, scored at 4-1/4”. Then measure from the outside edge of at 1-1/4” on each side. Using your paper trimmer, cut from the score line (crease) to the open edge for both sides.

FRONT SIDES:

·        Basic Black – cut 2 pieces 1-1/8” x 4-1/8”.

·        DSP – cut 2 pieces 1” x 4”

CENTER FRONT:

·        Basic Black – cut 2-7/8” x 4-1/8” plus a 1” wide x 4” scrap for the scalloped edge.

·        DSP – 2-3/4” x 4”

·        Basic White Greeting strip – ¾” x 2-3/4”

·        Window Sheet (bridge) 1-1/4” x 5-1/4”

INSIDE:

·        Basic White 4-1/2” x 5-3/8”

·        Basic Black – cut 2 pieces 1-1/8” x 4-1/8”

·        DSP – cut 2 pieces 1” x 4”

FOR FLORAL DIE CUT IMAGE:

·        Thick Basic White 2-3/4” x 3-1/4”

·        Stamp floral image from Hand-Penned Petals in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. Using Pale Papaya and Mint Macaron ink stamp interior shading of flowers and leaves. Using Stampin’ Blends in Dark Mint Macaron and Light Calypso Coral hand color accent portions.

FOR ENVELOPE FLAP:

·        DSP – 2-3/8” X 6”

SPANNER CARD BUILDING STEPS

1.     Fold card on score line.

Inside of card

2.     Adhere Basic White to inside solid half of card base.

3.     Adhere each Polka Dot DSP strip to each Basic Black Strip.

4.     Adhere each Polka Dot/Black strip to each side of Basic White piece.

Moving to the two front side panels

5.     Adhere each Green Stripe DSP strip to each Basic Black Strip.

6.     Adhere Window Sheet strip to the front of the two side panels with small pieces of tear and tape, so bottom edge of window sheet is 1/16” from bottom of card front.

7.     Then adhere each Green Stripe/Black strip to each front side, so it encloses the window sheet.

Center Panel of Front

8.     Adhere floral DSP to Basic Black cardstock.

9.     Go die cut the scallop edge on strip of Basic Black. The strips are in a bag by the big shot.

10. On the narrow piece of Basic White – stamp “Anything is Possible” in Tuxedo Black about ¼” away from the left edge and close to the top edge about 1/16” down.

11. Glue stamped white strip with top edge at 1-1/4” away from bottom edge of center card base panel. It is supposed to fit on the DSP only.

12. Take Black Scalloped Border piece and adhere it just below “possible” so there is black cardstock hanging over both side edges. Trim to fit flush with side edge of black cardstock.

13. Adhere multi-layered center piece to card base center panel.

Floral Image

14.      Die cut out colored flower image with die cutting machine.

15.      Affix flower using 4 mini dimensionals, with 3 going to adhere to the green stripe right side panel and one mini dimensional on the lower leaf to the window sheet.

Envelope

16.      Attach and trim DSP piece on Envelope Flap.

Please let me know in the comments, if there was anything unclear in my directions. I want them to be as accurate as possible.

Have fun making this card. It is gorgeous when you are all finished!
