Learn about Stand Alone Dies from Stampin' Up!

I don't know about you, but I love NEW products!. Stampin' Up! has come out with three new dies, that they are calling "stand alone" because they can be used in a variety of ways and with many of their stamp sets. Check out the 2 minute video below.

Here's some closer up photos and links to my online store to purchase them.

Can be cut with the Mini Cut and Emboss Machine.

What can your imagination create with these three new products? I see some fabulous possibilities ahead in my cardmaking.

Have a lovely day!

Fun Summer Sampler Project You Can Make

I love Home Decor pieces, especially Samplers. I enjoyed designing this Summer Sampler for my customers who are participating in our Year of Samplers classes.

It's a blast to be able to dive into my stamp/die/punch collection to find just the right pieces needed for this sampler.

I thought about the following things that happen in the summer: blowing pinwheels in the wind, visits to Grandma's house, baseball games (youth or professional), licking dripping popsicles, outdoor barbecues, sunny weather for the most part, visiting the beach and celebrating 4th of July.  My list of ideas was actually longer, but these images had the best scale of size to work together in this piece.

Do some of these squares resonate with you?

Here's three of the ladies who took the class - (L to R) - Mary Ann, Barbara and Beth. They kept saying "This is so cute!" as they were creating their samplers. They will be putting their sampler into a shadow box frame that has already held the Valentines and Spring samplers we have made together.

The "Craftermath" when the class was finished.  Lots of Stamps, Ink and Paper!

The Current & Retired Products used were:

Each Basic White cardstock block was 2-3/4" and the Summer one was 2-3/4" x 6-1/4".

Bermuda Bay cardstock was the main color throughout. Those blocks were 3" square and 3" x 6-1/2".

Provided a variety of 12" x 12" "Summery" Designer Series Paper sheets that the ladies could select from to mount their finished blocks on.

SUMMER block - Sophisticated Serifs stamp set, Waterfront stamp set, Balmy Blue ink put on with a blending brush, Bermuda Bay ink, Pool Party ink, Gray Granite ink, Crushed Curry ink, Soft Suede ink, Old Olive ink, Melon Mambo ink, Memento ink and April 2018 Paper Pumpkin stamps " Seagulls".

Patriotic block - Kite Delight stamp set, Star dies, Red- White-Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper, Cloudy Day embossing folder, Real Red ink, Pacific Point ink, and non SU shiny star embellishment attached with glue dot.

Pinwheels - 2" square of Melon Mambo and Bermuda Bay Designer Series Papers (your choice of patterns), Glue Dots, Candy Dot on top, and non SU drinking straws in coordinating colors. Hint- I used a glue dot with each blade of the pinwheel to secure it.

Watermelon accents - April 21 Paper Pumpkin stamp set, Memento ink, Real Red Stampin' Blends, Just Jade Stampin' Blends, and mounted with dimensionals.

Other Tools Used - Paper Trimmer, Paper Snips, Cut and Emboss Machine, Take Your Pick tool, Stampin' Seal, dimensionals, glue dots, and liquid glue.

(Forgive me if I've forgotten anything on the list above. As you can see there was a lot to keep track of.)

If you want to make something similar for your home, you have the basic ingredients used listed above. Feel free to be creative and substitute other summer favorites of yours. If there is anything unclear please ask a question in the comment box below.

June 21 is Summer Solstice so be sure to hang up your Summer Sampler on that day!

He's the Man Pop Up Front Step Card

Do you ever have one of those creative times where you think you might have come up with a new way to do something? I think I might have improved upon the Pop Up Front Step Card design by using a piece of Window Sheet to give the appearance of a "see-through" scene.

I'm still creating with the He's the Man Suite and I just couldn't resist to have that VW Bus appear like it was on a road! What do you think? Did I succeed?

On the card base diagram below you will be placing two strips of Tear and Tape in the far right section to build your foldable base.  Refer to photo below.

Stampin' Seal adhesive will be used on the Window Sheet at the left edge and the far right section.
Crease the plastic sheet well on the score lines, but don't crack the plastic.

Cutting Dimensions for the rest of the card:
Top Panel - Early Espresso - 3" x 4"
Designer Series Paper - 2-7/8" x 3-7/8"
VW Bus is attached to Window Sheet with Stampin' Seal

Lower Panel - Early Espresso - 2" x 4"
Designer Series Paper - 1-7/8" x 3-7/8"
Soft Succulent - 1-3/8" x 3-1/4" is meant to cover up the Window Sheet.
Punch Out from Designer Series Paper raised on Dimensionals.
Finished with two punch out stars and the Rustic Metallic Dots.

Basic White Layer - 4" x 5-1/4"
Stamped sentiments in Early Espresso ink.

I've made my card to be for Father's Day but the He's All That stamp set has a lot of great manly occasion sayings.

All these items are available at my online store here. It is very easy to use the search box and enter He's the Man and all the related products will pop right up.

I'd love to read your comments about this card. Please post below!

Have a great day!

Hint for the diagonal pieces - cut the Designer Series Paper 3.75" x 5" and slice diagonally and you'll get these nice sized borders around each piece.

Hint - to get the tag behind the Awesome punch out, I die cut the rounded rectangle die twice and spliced the two pieces until they would fit behind the tag.
