Lori's Corner "Origami" Flip Christmas Card Class

My dear Demonstrator friend, Lori, invited me to participate again in her Christmas Spirit Club this year. I've been pretty busy with other things since the start of the year, but I finally was able to join in on Zoom with her and her customers.

She led us in the Corner "Origami" Flip Fold Card design.

I used retired products from last winter - the Gingerbread and Peppermint Designer Series Paper.
Cut 4 pieces 2.5" x 1-13/16"

Retired In Color - Cinnamon Cider for card base

Current Product - Real Red cardstock (for layer) and ink pad, and Basic White cardstock for tag and inner layer.

Retired 2-1/4" circle punch

Non Stampin' Up! product - 1/8" red satin ribbon for bows.

As I worked with the paper, it was fun to play with color and pattern to see what would result.

The three stamp sets I used were -
Encircled in Warmth - retired
Candy Cane Christmas (very retired)
Everything Essential - retired

Do you like Rudolph's shiny red nose? That's a Red Rhinestone for the bling!

It feels good to have a head start on this year's Christmas cards! If I'm really organized I will get them sent out early in the month this year. I totally missed last year (for the first time ever!) due to our Christmas on the Elbe river cruise my family took. It was worth it! So fun!

So Long, Farewell 2020-2022 In Colors

In just a few more days these wonderful In Colors will be retiring for good. I've especially loved using four of the five, as I'm not really a pink person, so I didn't use Magenta Madness much. Cinnamon Cider, Just Jade, Misty Moonlight, and Bumblebee were awesome colors that went with the family color collections.

When these In Colors came out I made this set of Andy Warhol inspired Pop Art cards. Using the Celebrate Sunflower set which luckily is still continuing in the upcoming 2022-23 Annual Catalog.

As I sit here typing, the idea struck me that I should make this card design over with the new colors and see how it looks, especially since I love sunflowers and it is part of my brand and logo.

If you'd like to revisit my posts about this card design, click the links below.

The graphics below were released when these In Colors introduced.

So like the old Sound of Music movie, I'll say So Long, Farewell, auf Widersehen, Goodbye to these In Colors.

Let me know in the comments which In Color was your favorite?

Have a great day!

Gingerbread and Peppermint Easy Gift Tags

As a demonstrator, we often buy multiple packages of Designer Series Paper because there are one or two sheets we fall in love with. Usually, each 12'" x 12" package only has 2 sheets per package. The 6" x 6" stacks often have between 4 and 6 of the same pattern. If we are planning for a class, multiple sheets are always needed. So what do you do with the rest of the paper in the package? Make tags!

I made over 40 package tags with Kraft Paper and assorted Gingerbread and Peppermint Designer Series Papers. The twine I used is not a Stampin' Up! item, but I had a big spool, so wanted to use some up.

The kraft paper tags are 2" x 4". The Gingerbread and Peppermint Designer Series paper was cut to 1-3/4" x 3-3/4". Using the Gingerbread and Peppermint Dies made quick work of die-cutting the bell, ornament, and snowflake images. Stamp your favorite holiday greeting on Cinnamon Cider cardstock in Real Red ink, then punch out with the Double Oval Punch. Raise both the image and oval up on dimensionals. Use a regular hole punch for the twine to go through at the top.

I was able to group the tags into sets and give them away as thank you gifts to my customers earlier this month. They loved them! You know you don't have to always use them on packages, they can also be tied around the neck of a wine bottle or hand soap dispenser for easy gift giving. So many possibilities! Your friends and family will love the creativity and care that went into these tags. Make a bunch!

Cross Over Gate Fun Fold Card

Back in September when I was receiving Birthday Cards from Debbie Henderson's Random Act of Kindness card club, this Cross Over Gate Fun Fold was one of the styles of cards I received. I had never seen this fun fold before, so I thought it would be a perfect one to give Lori and Anne when we were together for OnStage at Home.  They loved their cards!

Since I am already in love with the Gingerbread and Peppermint Suite, it was easy to use some of the Designer Series Paper and pieces of the Memories and More Card Pack to build these two cards.

The secret to this card is how you glue the two front rectangles. Half of One rectangle is glued on the upper left front and half of the other rectangle on the lower right front.

First Card front with matching envelope flap.

Fully open inside of the first card.

Flipped over backside of the first card.

***************************************************

The Second Card front with matching envelope flap.

Fully open inside of the second card.

The fully opened backside of the second card.
Did you notice the partial snowflakes are hidden behind the flaps to surprise when the card is opened?

Supplies used to make these cards:

Cinnamon Cider cardstock - cut 5-1/2" x 8-1/2", score at 2-1/8" and 6-3/8"
Real Red cardstock rectangles - 2-5/8" x 4"
Decorative pieces of Designer Series Paper or Memories and More Cards - 2-3/8" x 3-3/4"
Now you take it from here - Decorate and embellish as you would like.

Don't forget to add a 2-3/8" x 6" piece of Designer Series Paper on the back envelope flap to create a coordinated set.

This Cross Over Gate Fun Fold Card has so many holidays and occasions that it can be used for. The only limit is your imagination. Give it a try!

Perfect Pop Up Gingerbread & Peppermint Card

Ding-a-ling Christmas Gingerbread Cookies are ringing on this darling card using the Gingerbread & Peppermint Suite. I love how the card front has the gingerbread and peppermint right on it! I've been making fun fold cards this week. Today's card is an inside Pop Up inspired by LeeAnn Greff a while back.

I had to hold the card closed for the photo so it didn't spring open!

This inner pop-up is made with a 6" x 6" piece of Basic White cardstock. You can accent it however you like, but I think my arrangement is very "balanced" and pleasing to the eye.

Don't forget to cover your envelope flap too. It's made all the difference!

Gingerbread & Peppermint Dutch Door Fun Fold Card

Have you ever tried a Dutch Door Fun Fold? I don't think I ever have and it is really easy!
Here's my original design using the fabulous products from Stampin' Up!s
Gingerbread and Peppermint Suite.

Doesn't the decorated envelope flap just make this card set? I sure think so!
Using a trimmed-down Memories and More preprinted card, sure makes the front of the card look fabulous. The Designer Series Paper and the Gingerbread Dies make the "cookie" a nice accent.
