All Finished with Here's to You March Paper Pumpkin Kit

I love receiving my Paper Pumpkin Subscription each month, because I love opening my mailbox and seeing what's inside! However, some months I am not super excited once I open my kit. The March kit was one of those initially. But, I am a member of the wonderful Facebook group - Paper Pumpkin Fan Club and those creative people there always help me end up loving my kit.

Here's what came in the March Here's to You kit!

I made a total of 18 cards, but only photographed the thirteen that were not identical. If you receive a Paper Pumpkin subscription, I hope my cards inspire you to make your kit soon.

Here's a Hint! Always check your kit soon after you receive it. Be thorough to make sure all the parts are there. If there happens to be something missing, Stampin' Up! can make it right within the first couple months of receiving your kit. But if you wait a longggg time, you won't be as lucky with receiving what is missing.

I used quite a wide variety of additional parts and pieces to make my cards, some of which are already retired Stampin' Up! products or extras from other Paper Pumpkin kits. That is one of the reasons I like to get Paper Pumpkin as it is another good way to use retired products in your cardmaking.

The separate "Sunshine" stamp is from the Ridiculously Awesome stamp set. I thought it went so perfectly with the sunshine stencil. The flower image and larger Happy Birthday is from the Art Gallery stamp set and Floral Gallery Dies. The assorted butterflies were from some retired Designer Series Paper I had on hand. I felt adding additional layers of cardstock helped the cards to "POP" more, along with using more colorful ribbon than the kraft colored twine that was included in the kit.

In case you've never used stencils before. I have a couple suggestions to share. 1) tape your cardstock to your stamping grid paper, then tape the stencil where you want it. 2) Since the margins are so narrow on the stencil you are going to need to be very careful when getting near the outer edges. 3) Use a Sponge Dauber (instead of the included sponge) for better control, go from the outer edge inward only going in an up and down (stamping) motion. If you try to drag your dauber to spread out the ink, your stencil will move or the paper will. Hope this helps you!
