Try a Framed Christmas Sampler for a Holiday Home Decor Item in Your Home or Give as a Gift! Your Friends will Love You!

Looking for a unique way to spread some holiday cheer? Then this Shadow Box Framed Christmas Sampler is the perfect expression of love for your family and friends!

This 12" x 12" artsy piece isn't hard to make, but deciding what to put in it needs a thoughtful approach. I have found that the art principle of "scale" is important when you design one of these keepsakes. You want the images you select to work together to make an eye pleasing arrangement that you will love to see year after year.

My particular design is made using all retired Stampin' Up! products from my craft room, but you can use it as inspiration as you search through your papercrafting supplies to see what you can combine to create your own unique one of a kind piece of art.

I purchased my 12" x 12" shadow box frame from one of the big box craft stores when the frames were 50% off. If you decide you really love making samplers, you can reuse the frame over and over.

Here's the list of sizes, and the retired products I used (just in case you have some you want to include in your sampler).

Other Supplies Used: Stampin' Up! Paper Trimmer, Paper Snips, Dimensionals, Mini Dimensionals, Glue Dots, Stampin' Seal, and Glitter Glue (not an SU product, but available on Amazon.)

Finishing:  Make yourself a gluing frame. Use a piece of the white backing board from a package of Designer Series Paper and cut 4 - 1" x 12" strips. Carefully glue each corner together making sure you are at 90 degree angles.

When the frame is dry, lay on the tree backing paper and paperclip each corner only, making sure it lays flat.

When you use the frame you will glue each finished square in the lower left, upper left and upper right corners first, making sure they touch the frame inner edge but don't go underneath it.

Then glue the upper middle square making sure you have 1/2" spacing between squares.

Next comes the deer lower right corner with the "reins" loose.

Follow up with the Santa Sleigh middle lower square making sure you have 1/2" spacing between squares.

Glue the Word Rectangle next, again making sure you have 1/2" spacing above and below the rectangle.

Finish with the Middle Right square, leveling it with the Word Rectangle and aligning with the squares above and below it.

Finish by placing in Shadow Box Frame. Hang on Wall and admire your work!

Here's Karma and Ngara showing off their completed sampler. Looking fabulous ladies!

I encourage you to give a Sampler a try it is so much fun, and you'll be so proud of yourself!
