Extra Sweet Peppermint Gift Card Holder

Every holiday season there is always a need for a gift card holder for a last-minute gift to a friend or co-worker.  I think this design by Julie Gilson is absolutely darling. I did make mine a little different than hers by adding additional Gingerbread and Peppermint Designer Series Paper on the backs of the center cardholder and the back of the "purse." Also added additional trim on the purse back too.

A few other tricks I did were: 1) I cut the purse handle hole from both layers at the same time ensuring they lined up precisely, right after I cut the two pillow box pieces out; 2) I used a very small piece of mini velcro to "close" the purse; 3) I used Adhesive sheets behind every intricate die I could; and 4) Use an extra tacky tape lint roller brush to pick up all the little pieces from the die-cuts. It works wonders!

Here's a couple other ideas from the Fall Mini Catalog.

This pillow box favor is made with the 6" x 6" Kraft paper. I tried one similar and I have to say, it is going to take some getting used to, as it is very stiff paper.

This one is made using the Gingerbread and Peppermint 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper.
