New Latching Angle Fun Fold Birthday Card

This week I'll be sharing the cards from my Stamp and Chat Class that was held this past weekend. We had a fun time even though there was a power outage! Luckily, my hubby has a large capacity generator and once he got that turned on, we were good to go!

I cased this Angle Fun Fold layout from V and A Creations, but I improved it by creating a "latch" mechanism to keep it closed much better!

Use a full sheet of 8-1/2" x 11" cardstock cut diagonally from the upper right corner to the lower-left corner. You'll get 2 cards this way.

I started with the Beautifully Penned Designer Series Paper from the Sale-a-Bration brochure and cut two pieces 4" x 5-1/4". Cut those diagonally from the upper left to the lower right. Again you'll have extras for the second card option. Then I trimmed 1/8" more from them on the portion that will become the outer side edge. That should help the triangles fit well.

Here's my latching idea. I punched two 1-3/8" circles and adhered them together. Put adhesive on only half of the circle and attached to the right side triangle flap only. Then you can add 3 or 4 dimensionals around it on the left side triangle flap as shown so they are not touching. Then attach your prepared two-layer circle sentiment with scallop circle backing.

Here's a peek at the inside.

Here are the products used in this card:

Melon Mambo cardstock
Beautifully Penned Designer Series Paper
Retired Layering Circles Dies
Melon Mambo Ink
Basic White cardstock
Retired Enamel Dots
Dimensionals

This fun fold will work for any occasion and any special person in your life. Give it a try!
Have a lovely day!
