Sweetheart Global Collective May Blog Hop - Featuring the Newly Released Stamped with Love Stamp Set

LET'S GET STARTED:

When I saw the Stamped with Love stamp set in the new 2023-24 Annual Catalog from Stampin' Up! I just had to have it. I thought to myself, "What a perfect stamp set for a card maker to design with!"

My card was inspired by a similar idea from Heather Klum, but I went a couple different ways with my inside greeting and the stamped envelope than she did.

It was fun to apply the Post Boxes being stamped in Pecan Pie ink like a patterned design on the card front and the envelope flap.

This Birthday card uses two new colors introduced with this new Annual Catalog. The 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" card base, scored at 4 1/4" is Pecan Pie. The middle "Love You Always" envelope is Bubble Bath. The top "I Like You" envelope is continuing color Soft Sea Foam. The bottom envelope is a returning color called Berry Burst.

With each of the three envelope colors you will need a 2" x 3 1/2" piece of that color card stock. Stamp the full envelope and pen image to the left side of the piece and you'll have leftover room to stamp the fountain pen again, which will be fussy cut out and applied to another color of envelope.

Here's a bonus hint for you - You'll need to fussy cut out the envelopes as there are no matching dies. But you have my permission to cut off the pen tip and top of the fountain pen to make the cutting of the envelopes go faster. You'll have enough of the pen barrel stamped to know where to position it correctly and adhere the extra pen so it will contrast with the envelope.

The card front is finished with Adhesive Backed Sequins Trio, applying three white sequins as shown.

Since the front of the card had cursive on the mini enveloped, the inside layer "had" to as well. The Go To Greetings stamp set was perfect! I used a layer of Basic White cardstock cut at 4" x 5 1/4".

The mini hearts are stamped in Berry Burst ink. I stamped one extra ink pen in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on a scrap of Basic White card stock and colored it in with the Bubble Bath dark alcohol Blends marker. It's a little tricky to fussy cut out, but doable. I used a pair of tweezers to hold on to it, while applying the liquid glue, so it could look like it had just finished writing "Happy."

When I saw the Wildlife Wonder Stamp Set, I was thrilled as I could see the images would make fabulous outdoorsy guy cards. The He's the Man Designer Series Paper is the perfect complement for this stamp set. My idea was to make a "tent" card but have it be a little different. The embossed Basic White cardstock with the Timber 3D embossing folder is the perfect background for the bear image that was fussy cut with a mini margin around the image. I used Tear and Tape to affix the Bear Square to the upper and lower portions of the card front,

Extra Hint -

Extra Hint - Put an additional 3 1/4" square of Soft Succelent on the inside of the card front to make the middle section super secure.

He's The Man Designer Series Paper

CUTTING and ASSEMBLY DIRECTIONS:

Early Espresso Cardstock 7 1/4" x 4 1/4", scored at 5 1/2".

Early Espresso Cardstock 1 3/4" x 4 1/4".

He’s the Man Designer Series Paper (DSP) two pieces - 1 1/2" x 4", adhere one piece to the top front portion of the cardbase, and the other piece to the separate Early Espresso piece.

Soft Succulent Cardstock - two pieces 3 1/4" x 2 3/4".

Basic White Cardstock 3 1/8" x 2 5/8", embossed with the Timber 3D Embossing Folder and adhered to one piece of the Soft Succelent Cardstock.

Basic White Cardstock 3 1/4" x 2 3/4" to stamp the bear image from the Wildlife Wonder Stamp Set with Early Espresso Classic Stampin’ Pad Ink, then fussy cut the image out. Raise the bear image up with Dimensionals.

To assemble the card front - Lay the lower piece lined up correctly with the bottom edge of the card. Apply Tear and Tape to the back top and lower edge of the middle "bear" section. Carefully apply the top portion first. Then align up the lower portion and affix bear to this portion.

With Retired- 1-1/4” and 1-3/8” Circle Punches, punch out a larger circle from Early Espresso, and the smaller circle from Basic White. Using Early Espresso ink, stamp the greeting. Adhere layers together and raise up on card front with dimensionals.

Add two Rustic Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots to the lower left corner of the Bear Section.

With the Soft Succulent Classic Stampin’ Pad, stamp the greeting on the inner layer of Basic White Cardstock 4" x 5 1/4". Affix to inner card.

Adhere the extra piece of Soft Succulent to the back of the bear section so the card front is stronger and looks finished on the inside. 

Basic White Medium Envelopes with a matching envelope flap from the DSP cut 2 3/8" x 6".

All done, your favorite guy is going to love receiving this masculine Birthday Card for their special day!

Quick and Easy Anniversary Card Using Stampin' Up!s Splendid Day Designer Series Paper

I was needing a quick and easy anniversary card and after looking around the internet, this layout came to mind. It isn't hard at all. What you need is a Designer Series Paper that has a pleasing and matching background and this card layout will work perfectly. 

This beautiful and shiny foil like paper from the retired Splendid Day Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack works nicely because you want two subtle sections and two eye-catching sections in this design. This particular sheet was paired with Sahara Sand cardstock on a card base of Basic White cardstock.

Here's the details for making this card:

Basic White Cardstock - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"

Layer 1 - Sahara Sand Cardstock - 4" x 5 1/4" (If you are using a different DSP, just color coordinate this layer with the DSP.)

Layer 2 - Retired Splendid Day DSP -  3 1/2" x 4 3/4". Cut this piece carefully on both diagonals. Flip over the top and bottom sections to show the back side of the DSP. The left and right sections are the shiny foil side.  You can substitute whatever Designer Series Papers you may have on hand that gives a similar look.

Choose an anniversary stamp you have and stamp the greeting in coordinating ink in the top section before adhering to Layer 1.

Lay out your four sections and start adhering to the Sahara Sand. Be mindful of even border spacing.

Take a 22" piece of coordinating ribbon and wrap around this layer and tie a bow in the middle. Secure bow with glue dots.

Raise this completed layer on Dimensionals and affix to card front. Add coordinating embellishments. I used Champagne Rhinestones on my sample.

Don't forget to make a matching envelope flap, cut at 2 3/8" x 6" and adhere to exterior flap, Trim off excess.

Now you have a lovely card to give away to celebrate an anniversary!

Close Up of Stampin' Up!s 2023 Color Collection Refresh

Here's some closeup graphics of the changes that are coming on May 2, 2023 with Stampin' Up!s Color Refresh. I've been digging in my stamp studio pulling out the retiring and making room for the new, and I have to say it is a chore! A happy chore however! I always love new colors!

These new InColors give me the vibe of earthy tones and some retro too. I think they are going to be very fun to combine with the Color Collection families.

Here's a Card Idea for You Combining Stampin' Up!s Alphabet Ala Mode Letter Dies with the Sale-a- Bration Dainty Flowers Designer Series Paper

If you were one of the ones to get a free package of Dainty Flowers Designer Series Paper when you placed a qualifying order during the January-February 2023 Sale-a-Bration consider yourself very lucky. This gorgeous paper flew out of the Stampin' Up! warehouse and was out of stock pretty quickly.

It is extremely gorgeous and I can understand why everyone wanted some. 

Here is a Hello Card I made recently that brings together a lot of wonder items to make a show-stopper card. So if you happen to have some Dainty Flowers Designer Series Paper, follow along for this card idea!

Supplies:

Mossy Meadow Cardstock cut 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"

Stitched Greenery Die

Cardstock Vellum 4 1/8" x 5-3/8" - flip die cut paper over so texture shows as front side  (Hint - only apply adhesive underneath where the floral oval will go so adhesive won't show on the outer edges of the vellum.)

Dainty Flowers Designer Series Paper - one of the preprinted floral ovals

Deckled Rectangle Dies - use the second to the largest die

Dimensionals to raise up the Floral Oval layer from the Vellum.

Retired Love You Always Foil Sheets from Spring Mini 2021 Catalog - foil piece about 2 1/2" x 4"

Alphabet Ala Mode Dies

Adhesive Sheet - piece about 2 1/2" x 4"

Linen Thread and/or Retired Mossy Meadow Baker's Twine for bow

Glue Dots to attach the bow

Basic White Cardstock for inner layer 4" x 5-1/4"
Medium Basic White Envelope

Coordinating 2 3/8" x 6" piece of Mossy Meadow Designer Series Paper for exterior envelope flap (suggesting using Neutrals 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper collection)

Alphabet Ala Mode Dies

Hint for working with these skinny letter dies. Apply a piece of adhesive sheets to the back of the foil and it will be much easier to apply the cut out letters with adhesive already attached to the card front.
