Stacey Lisk Mail-In Swap - My Original Cards

Part of being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator is we have access to a wonderful place called Stampin' Connection. It's an online resource for swapping, card ideas, and much more. A nice Demo named Stacey Lisk had offered a swap a while back when the annual convention was in Salt Lake City and I participated in her WOW swap.  Well she was nice enough to invite me back to her Occasions Catalog Swap via the mail this month. These are my original design cards that I submitted.

Here's the simple list of products used:

With these two dragonfly cards, I used similar products on both, but the look is so different. Love them both.

The technique piece to this card is I used the aqua painter to paint Tempting Turquoise ink and Pear Pizzazz ink on the Whisper White cardstock that is going behind the wings. When that was dry, I used the gold Wink of Stella pen to put some splooshs all over to give it some sparkle! Then I used the Big Shot to cut the Whisper White out with the thinlits. Finally, I used the Fine-tip Glue pen very carefully to glue the gold and white layers together. I weighted them down with a clear block to dry for 5-10 minutes before attaching to the card front. I did the same with the gold Wink of Stella on the smaller dragonflies that were fussy cut from the group of 5 that the thinlits make.

Santa's Sleigh Z-fold Card

I had been seeing so many Demo's trying their hand at making a Z-fold card so I had to as well. I thought I might do this one for a class, but after this one card taking me over two hours to make I decided to give it to my daughter and son-in-law for Christmas instead of doing it for a class. It was definitely a labor of love. When my daughter received it, she was very impressed and said she loved it. That made me feel good!

Here's the supplies that went into my original design. The sleigh's presents were just scraps of cardstock I had on hand and wrapped them with the silver ribbon using little pieces of scotch tape.  I recommend using GUM brand Floss Threaders found in the dental aisle to thread the baker's twine through the mini jingle bell hanger.

Thanks for stopping by to take a look at this card. Maybe it will inspire you to do something like this next holiday season!
