May Paper Pumpkin Kit Celebrating In Colors Alternates

The May Celebrating In Colors Paper Pumpkin Kit was lots of fun to make alternates with. I made 21 cards in all. The photos below just show the individual designs of which I made some duplicates. I was inspired by many creative souls on the Paper Pumpkin Fan Club Facebook Page.

I also used up the remaining cards and envelopes I had of the Tea Boutique Cards and Envelopes set.

Upper Right card used fussy cut florals from the Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper.

Right card - I tried my hand at writing "You" with the dark Basic Black Stampin' Blends pen. The paper behind the "you" came from the 2022-24 InColors 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper.

The upper left and lower right cards uses the envelope as a layer and I added the InColor Glimmer Paper 3/4" strip for a little pizzazz.

The upper right card has an added Ladybug punched from Orchid Oasis and Tahitian Tide cardstock. The 2022-24 InColor Matte Decorative Dots puts the spots on the ladybug wings.

The lower left card is intended to be a Graduation card. I used the envelope flap at the top and stamped "congrats" from a retired set I have. Added a Gold Fold Circle punched out and gold trim as a bow.

I thought the ladybug was such a fun addition to the cards above and below I couldn't stop adding them! Some were stamped and then punched, others just punched from cardstock.

The upper left card had the front edges of the kit cardbase sponge daubered with Sweet Sorbet ink.

The upper right and lower left cards had the Biggest Wish stamp set used with Sweet Sorbet ink.

Above the Biggest Wish stamp set was used in Sweet Sorbet ink and Starry Sky ink. More Sweet Sorbet cardstock and Gold Foil were added for accent and to tie the gold dots together.

Every month it is such a fun challenge to see what is possible in the way of alternate cards once I receive my kit. Be brave give it a try too!

Simple Tea Boutique Suite Card

Up next is another card we made at Stamp and Chat Class last weekend. I'm calling this the Bookmark Card. I'm so in love with the Tea Boutique Suite I had to find a way to use it again in class. It was easy when you start with the Tea Boutique Cards and Envelopes.

To create the pocket you will cut diagonally once on one full 6"x6" sheet of the 2022-24 In Color Designer Series Paper. Then you will cut one of the two triangles you created in half again. Amazingly the two smaller triangles fit perfectly on the front of the card base when they are overlapped as shown. With each triangle you will only adhere the side and bottom edges with adhesive to create the pocket effect.

Die cut both your teacups and glue together.

Stamp the stems in Parakeet Party ink and the flowers in Tahitian Tide ink on a scrap of Basic White. Fussy cut around the edges leaving 1/2" at the base to adhere to the back of the assembled tea cut.

When you adhere the finished tea cup to the card front be sure to only put dimensionals on the tea cup portion. The flowers are "loose" so the bookmark can slide in the pocket behind the flowers.

Die cut the bookmark with the largest of the Tailor Made Tags die  on a piece of Basic White as shown. Stamp a second set of flowers and stems at the bottom end of the bookmark. Stamp whatever greeting you choose at the top of the bookmark.

Take a  10" piece of the Parakeet Party Metallic Woven Ribbon and tie at knot at the top of the bookmark, then tie a bow. It will look nice and lay flat if you do it this way.

Finish your masterpiece with three Pearl Jewels, two on the tea cup flowers and one in the open handle space.

In Color Week with Parakeet Party

Here is In Color #5 - Parakeet Party! It seems almost a cross between neon green and the current Granny Apple Green. What do you think?

I had so much fun making this card for you. I love the look of tippy tea cups stacked together. I wanted them to "pop off" the card front so I used the strip of Basic Black mounted on Sweet Sorbet.

Can I tell you a secret? I used two adhesives on the tea cups. Mini Dimensionals at the top edge and Stampin' Seal for the base. That way the cups were angled and fit together better when stacked.

Here's my second tip - I wanted one of the teacups to be going in the other direction. I figured out I just needed to flip the Designer Paper over and die cut the cup on the reverse side and it would come out the way I wanted it when I flipped it over. I felt like a smarty pants for that! LOL

I thought my card needed just a little something more, so the addition of the two stamped and die cut mini flowers with pearl centers were perfect. The retired Stitched So Sweetly die set had the perfect die I needed which I think balances out the card so nicely.

I have loved using the Tea Boutique matching cards and envelopes! They are so much fun to work with and so easy to make a lot of cards at once.

Products used in my Card above:

Tea Boutique Cards and Envelopes, Cup of Tea stamp set, Teacup Dies, Tea Boutique 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper = Tea Boutique Suite

Basic Black and Sweet Sorbet cardstock and Sweet Sorbet ink pad, and two Pearl Jewels

Retired Stitched So Sweetly Dies, Basic White cardstock, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink,
Parakeet Party 1/8" Metallic Woven Ribbon

Adhesives used were Stampin' Seal, Mini Dimensionals and Glue Dots.

Tools used were the regular Cut and Emboss Machine, Paper Trimmer, Take Your Pick Tool, and Paper Snips.
