Bring on Winter with this Snowflake Ornament Card

Christmas card sending season is coming quickly. Here’s another easy idea to make with similar supplies you may have in your collection, if you don’t already have the Textures and Frames Sale-A-Bration stamp set or Peaceful Prints Sale-A-Bration Designer Series Paper.  You may find people selling these items on Etsy or Ebay as two places to check.

Ornament portion of card cased from Kathryn Brown. Rest is my design.

Products Used in creating this Card:

Basic Black cardstock cardbase
Bsaic White cardstock layer
Recently Retired - Peaceful Prints Designer Series Paper layer
Black and White 1/4" Gingham Ribbon
Basic Black cardstock layer
Bsaic White cardstock layer
Recently Retired - Textures and Frames Sale-a-Bration stamp set -
Circle image stamped in Real Red ink
Gold heat embossed Ornament Hanger comes from Retired Embellished Ornaments stamp set
White heat embossed Snowflake comes from  Retired Stitched with Cheer stamp set
Christmas Wishes greeting comes from Banner Year stamp set
Gold Embossing Powder
White Embossing Powder
Versamark ink
Heat Tool
Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Retired Fine Gold Braid Thread

Here’s a close up of the fun stamped and embossed "Ornament.". If you don’t have the stamp set, but have similar materials, one trick you could try is take some scrap cardstock, then punch or die cut a similar size circle in it and use it as a stencil to sponge dauber your ink through to create a round ornament. Any snowflake stamp you own that would fit inside your circle would be just fine to heat emboss with the white embossing powder. Try some different combinations for yourself! That’s the fun of being creative. Seeing what results from the ideas you have in your head!

Make Delightful Fun Flag Card with Textures and Frames set

Do you love FREE stuff? Here's a great choice that's available right now during Stampin' Up!s second Sale-a- Bration available until September 30. This stamp set is called Textures and Frames.

You can receive it for free by placing a $50 order before tax and shipping.  But wait, you say, I have to spend money to get this? Yes, but if you love stamping as I do, I'm sure you have a wish list or resupply list always hanging around for the right time to order. Now's a good time!

Here's a very easy card design you can make with this set. It seems very timely right now, but for all time. It is a great patriotic card for a variety of national holidays throughout the year, like Memorial Day, Patriot's Day, or Veterans Day. It could also be changed to be a Birthday card, Sympathy card, Welcome Home card, Encouragement card, and more I haven't even thought of yet.

This card design would also lend itself to being one of those cards where you have a bunch on hand, then just add a pre-stamped label from your label collection for whatever occasion you need it for.

Here's the products I used to make this card:

Night of Navy card base - 5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored at 4-1/4", tent style with fold on top

Basic White card stock inner layer - 4" x 5-1/4"

Real Red card stock layer - 3-3/4 x 5"

Basic White card stock layer 3-1/4" x 4-1/2"

Scrap of Basic White for Tag

Textures and Frames stamp set

Peaceful Moments stamp set

Night of Navy Ink and Real Red Ink

Retired Word Window Punch (HINT: to get the inked edge on the tag, I gently touch the sides and ends to the ink pad to get this effect.)

Very Retired Heart and Star Night of Navy Enamel Shapes

I hope you can see many uses for this Sale-a-Bration stamp set.
