Hello
I'm Eva Dietz, an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator in Western Washington State. Thanks for visiting my website, but especially my blog portion. I love cardmaking and other papercrafts and I hope to inspire you in creating your own handmade beauties!
About Me
I live in a small town called Enumclaw, which a lot of people pass through year-round to go see Mt. Rainier or ski at Crystal Mountain in the winter. I used to ski, but my knees won't let me anymore.
I don't like coffee except for Starbucks Caramel Frappicinos (yes, I know there is coffee in it, but the caramel and whipped cream mask it.Yummy!)
I have traveled to Europe multiple times since 2005, thanks to our daughter being a German Exchange Student there. I love River Viking Cruises too! Highly recommend them.
My favorite TV show of all time is Downton Abbey. Those costumes are incredible, I've seen them up close twice! They are magical!
I am married to my husband, Dave for 43 years. We have two grown children, a son, and a daughter. The daughter is married, but no grands yet.
I am a retired elementary teacher having spent most of my career in 5th grade, where I made sure my students had Art every Friday!
My Crafty Life
My mom was very talented in all things crafty and I learned many skills from her - sewing, quilting, knitting, crocheting, and several types of embroidery. As an adult, I tried my hand at calligraphy, basket weaving, ceramics, and painting.
In 2000 I was invited to my first Stampin' Up! Workshop. It was magical to watch what the Big Shot Machine could do with paper and an embossing folder. Cardmaking had me under its spell! Fast forward ten years to 2010 when I was having a hard year with a 5th grade class of 20 boys and 7 girls, and my demonstrator said, "Eva, the Starter Kit is half price, you should think about joining Stampin' Up!" I thought about it and decided that I was going to take her up on the offer. I haven't looked back since! I love trying different fun folds, and I tend to make cards with multiple layers.
You are encouraged to see my cards and projects here on my blog, or Facebook, Instagram, or Pinterest.
Why I Love Stampin' Up!
Besides loving embossing folders from the get-go, I love Stampin' Up!s quality cardstock and Designer Series Papers. The color coordination is top-notch with the four families - Regals, Brights, Subtles, and Neutrals. They make creating a card so easy because all the products work so well together. Inks, papers, markers, and embellishments all match. Their stamp collection often has coordinating die sets or punches to help make the job easier. I will definitely say my scissor skills are much improved due to fussy cutting out images, and the markers have helped with my coloring skills. I hope you'll give Stampin' Up! a try! If you don't already have your own demonstrator, I'd love to be yours, no matter where you live in America.
